...I'm ten minutes in and I'm already getting pissed off...stuck at a spot with water...

...have I ever mentioned that I think a character who can't swim is one of the cheapest design elements there is?

Agreed. And why can Mario sometimes swim and live and then other times if he touches water he drowns? This makes no sense.

Especially when you're not even submerged. I'm looking at you Red Dead Redemption where Marston dies waist deep water. Also annoying in Vice City, you live in Miami, learn how to swim Tommy.
