Coming in October. Pretty pumped for this since the only games I still play are Madden, Civ, and NBA2K. Even though Civ Beyond Earth kinda sucked, I have high hopes for this one.

Beyond Earth was awful.

I got Civ5 on release, but the vanilla game didn't really impress me, and I had little time to learn the new stuff. I was also still heavily playing modded versions of Civ 4. Last year I grabbed all the new expansions for 5, and it's a much better game. I saw the entire bundle Civ 5 Complete bundle last week for like $13 on Steam.

I've been watching a bunch of the dev videos. It looks fantastic. The art seemed a bit CivRev ish but it actually looks good on the map itself. I was a bit nervous after BE but this one looks like a definite pre-order so I can unlock the Aztecs from the outset

What do you guys think of the Civs/ leaders? These are confirmed, or all-but-confirmed from leaks/ screenshots etc.

America - Theodore Roosevelt
Arabia - Saladin
Brazil - Pedro II
China - Qin Shi Huang
Egypt - Cleopatra
England - Victoria
France - Catherine de Medici
Germany - Frederick Barbarossa
Greece - Gorgo & Pericles -- It is not clear yet if you can choose leaders, alternate, or if they are leaders of Athens and Sparta as separate civs
India - Gandhi
Japan - Hojo Tokimune
Kongo - Mvemba a Nzinga (Afonzo I)
Norway - Harald Hardrada
Rome - Trajan
Russia - Peter the Great
Scythia - Tomyris
Spain - Philip II
Sumer[Ur] - Gilgamesh
Aztec - Montezuma I

I've played every Civ ever made, but the exclusion of Reagan is really starting to make me debate continuing.

Gorgeous. I personally love the artstyle, aside from a few of the leaders look a bit cartoonish.

Don't get Beyond Earth. It's a garbage game. Not sure about those other two IMU mentioned.

BE is bad. really bad. Alpha Centauri was awesome, but it's like 20 years old.

Beyond Earth isn't really a space game. It's still a planet builder, but with a space theme. I assume you want something that you build starfleets, colonize worlds, etc. I'll ask some gamer buddies.

Cool I used to like that game a lot. Earth is gone you and a supplied ship recolonize and all that. Not so much into the having to war with others really.

Civilization 6 - Let's Play Greece (Pericles)

Marbozir is one of my favorite game streamers.

Welp, there goes any chance of productivity today...

Well it's nice to see your posting style hasn't changed.

Generally this is true, but in an unreleased game where we know little about certain mechanics, it can help folks decide if they want to get the game on day 1, or possibly wait for a steam sale or the bugfixes to be worked out. Marbozir is also a deity-level gamer, unlike some of the streamers who appear to have never played any 4x type games in the past.
I have learned tons of tactics just watching his gameplay videos. I've bought many a game, and decided not to play others based upon some of his longplay videos.

To each their own. :eye:

Solar Realms Elite. Text based, and played as a Door (game) through BBS's. the last edition was written at the time "Outpost" was released in stores.
