Dude, I would have no problem with him disagreeing and saying that it is not the worst game ever. That's not what lipidasshat did, he comes out with this epic fail bullshit.
To me there's little more pathetic than 4 dudes, playing instruments that aren't instruments. My god, I saw an actual Rockband "tourney" at a local watering hole and never have I seen such a sad display. Really, it was disturbing.
Guitar Hero will cause this argument on both sides. But to me, nothing more sad than strumming a plactic guitar with 4 buttons and calling yourself a "guitar hero". I dunno maybe it's the thousands of hours I spent practicing chords and scales and the hundreds of hours I spend tending to my bleeding fingers that when I see some gamer jumping around on stage with a plastic guitar... I just don't understand it.

If you had actually named a specific game that you really thought was that bad, I wouldn't have had a problem...but you go throwing out this RockHeroGuitarStar shit and expect to be taken seriously? Admit it, all you were doing was being an ass.

I'm on Darkside's side on this one. GuitarRockHeroBand = Epic Fail. Here's a thought. Go out and buy a real guitar and learn how to play it. The South Park episode on this was a great illustration of how lame these games are.

Outside of the fact that in the early games, what you were being told to "play" didn't follow how you would actually play it at all. It had your fingers moving up the neck while the notes were going down. Hence the reason I almost smashed one of the plastic guitars in protest (yes I was drinky).


And don't you go knocking the ET game for the 2600. That thing kicked ass!

Here's a thought: I do own a real guitar...

No brother. I'm not being an ass. The entire concept just is awful. If you play guitar, you know damn well that this game does not translate the actual feeling of playing a guitar. You know this to be true. You also know that this is what they are selling. A real, tangible, guitar or band experience. I included the Metallica for the fact that i't the same goddamn game, different songs.

No some opinions just don't make any sense. If someone said the Giants were, in their opinion, the worst team in the NFC this year, that may be their opinion, but there's nothing in the real world that supports it.

Not enough...I wish I played more, but just don't have the desire too...main reason I used to play was because I was depressed and needed a way to express myself...not so depressed anymore, therefore, not playing much guitar...which is a shame, because I've got a really nice Strat that's locked away and will probably see the light of day once this coming year if it's lucky...

Darkside, I'm sorry...I wasn't trying to get defensive...it's just your comment really did seem like someone who had no geniune interest in the topic and instead just wanted to go for a cheap laugh. Oh, and for a record, not once while I have played any music game have I felt like I was doing the real thing. Like the sports games, it's just a simulation of the real thing...never could come close to the real experience...as much fun as I've had playing Rock Band, it can't come close to those moments where friends and I would be rocking out and come up with something new and exciting that would make you want to keep playing to the morning hours just because you couldn't get enough.
