Got this game on the release date and so far my biggest reaction is .... holy shit is Gus Johnson annoying.

I havent bought a Madden game in at least 4 years. Do they still have Madden doing color commentary, and is it the same statements that he was using in the game for the previous 10 years? I always remember the commentary being very repetitive.

Gus Johnson doing play-by-play. Chris Collinsworth doing color.

I kind of like Gus on the game. Kind of like him in real life too. Collinsworth always has a "favorite player" on every team, but so far that's the only annoying repetitive thing I've noticed...

Collinsworth told me all about my experienced QB that I was starting against the Bengals last night and how he's been in big games like this throughout his career ... I was starting Jimmy Claussen. (not by choice - Romo broke his jaw in the first game of the season)

I'm sure every game can be picked apart, but people seem to do it with Madden games more than anything else. I usually buy it every other year to make sure it's an upgrade and not just the same old thing. I loved the 2K games, but they're gone. So there ya go...

As for madden, I'm not all that impressed thus far. This is the first time I bought it for a next gen system and my god did it turn into one big advertisement for EA... "save 10 off of tiger woods" "sign up for fantasy football" "buy this fighter so-and-so for MMA"

Game-wise: The be a pro mode is hard as fuck but just picking up a game is pretty decent. Haven't tried franchise, but as of right now I regret buying this game... Maybe I'll enjoy it more if I get any better at it...

Madden is one big adverstisement in this game. Very annoying.

This is the first year that Im meh about the game. Usually I love it. This year, not so much.
