IGN review generally pans it...

Single-player uses Unreal engine and has major stability issues and a weak story. Multiplayer uses Bad Company engine and is basically a the poor step brother of the best game of all time (ok, I put that part in). My fears look pretty well confirmed. MP is Bad Company 2 without all the cool things about Bad Company 2 (large maps, destructable environments, and distinct classes).

I'm still getting it... I really am a nut for anything DICE these days. But my expectations are severely managed. Looks like an "avoid" for the CSFMB folk.

Just wait for Battlefield 3 if you want a great DICE game.

You get a beta invite with the limited edition at best buy... But why the fuck do they only sell the limited edition? Seriously, the regular edition will do just fine, I don't want to pay $10 extra bucks... They dont sell the regular edition on steam either

Gametrailers doesn't quite pan it, but they pretty much say what I suspected from the beginning: it's not doing anything that other games haven't done before, and it doesn't do it well.

Pretty sure you aren't paying any more for the "Limited" edition.

They (EA) did the same thing with Bad Company 2. Every version on the shelf to every store I went to said "Limited Edition" but was priced the same as any other new game that comes out.

Just looked on Amazon. It's sixty bucks. Same at Best Buy.

As true as that may be, have you played the game, or are you just throwing that out there?

I have not played THIS game, no. But based on my experience with other MoH titles, the latter portion of your statement is true.

I will stick to Halo and NBA2K11 for now.

Multiplayer is UN-FUCKING-PLAYABLE, I've broken two mouses in the past hour, I can't believe I wasted $60 on this piece of shit excuse for a game. the story mode was really enjoyable, but considering that its only about 4 FUCKING HOURS, theres not much there for replayability, is there?

Fucking waste

FUCK

Edit: and the only thing that made the story mode good was that it was almost identical to the call of duty MW games, but just not as exciting... so the only good thing about this godforsaken game isn't even something that was original or unique... pieces of shit

Crosscheck, remember you gotta come to me when it comes to PC's and which games to play for them. I woulda told you to avoid this one.

But I understand you're probably so ashamed because I am dominating your ass in a little Midwest Hockey League action.

Ok how did you get Kiprusoff and Luongo on the same team? We have failed as a league... But despite my goaltending shortfall I'm still in striking distance...

I also heard this game gives you AIDS, incurable migraine headaches, and papercuts between your fingers.

The good news:

As bad as this game is... for some reason, I still find it better than jumpy Halo.

This game sucks, but not as much as that game I absolutely cannot stand...

That's it...put it on the box.

Picked this up during my lunch yesterday. It's not horrible, it's not stellar. Single player is pretty fun so far, nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary. Multi player is almost identical to Battlefield 2, had trouble finding a game last night with over 21,000 online, kept getting booted off.

Only complaint was on the second mission in the single player, ran into a bug that did not allow me to go on two consecutive times. Googled to see if anyone was having issues, and sure enough, others had gotten stuck as well. Third try, I was able to get into the warehouse.

Overall, based on single player only, I'd say it is a 6 out of 10, I'm a sucker for FPS and reviews be damned, I was getting this.

By the way, purchased at K-Mart, they gave me a coupon for $25 off my next video game purchase, likely to be either Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 or Black Ops. Coupon is good through end of November.

On further review, maybe I was a bit harsh on this game. It's actually not that bad. It's just that the subject matter begs to be compared to the similar-type games (CoD, BC, etc.). Would I pay $60 for new maps on BF:BC2 (the best game ever made ;)), sure... because I'm an idiot who loves to figure out the intricacies of new maps. Frankly, I don't have buyers remorse on MoH. It's not a particularly bad game. Just relative to its peers, it falls short.

Kinda interesting... you get a code for Multiplayer. If you sell this game online after you use the code... whoever buys it will have to pay $10 more to get to play the Multiplayer. It's EA's way to make you buy the new game. I will tell you as a business man, I think it is ingenius... however, I'm sure EA will receive a decent amount of flak from the gamer community for this.

Actually I think I mispoke. I think you still have access to MP... just not access to some select maps and weapons.

Yeah, EA has been doing this for a while now...Mass Effect 2 had the "Cerberus Network" which gave you free DLC, and Bad Company 2 had the "VIP" code...

I agree with Mud...good for them...the way places like Gamestop are doing everything they can to undercut the developers by selling "new" used copies of games for three bucks cheaper so they can get all the profits is a serious problem for the industry, and shit like this will hopefully entice people to buy new.

The game has grown on me. Single-player wasn't bad... the story is equally as shallow as COD MW2, but the framerate slowing to a call and the shooting gallery aspect of many of the missions makes it kinda ho hum. The multiplayer is the part that has grown on me. I think someone here called it "unfuckin' playable"... I certainly wouldn't go that far. I guess I approach it like another set of guns and maps to figure out. They all have their own idiosynchracies that you have to figure out. That's the fun part in my opinion. Connections have been pretty good, and I have had some great games. If you got $60 in your pocket, you could do worse. It's certainly not as good as BF:BC2 or MW2, but it's not a bad shooter.

One question... anyone play Army of 2, 40th day? I hear that is one that not a lot of people played, but isn't bad. I get the impression that this game might fall in that category.

This game will undoubtedly be lost in the shuffle between Halo: Reach and CoD: Balck Ops.

I think you are right. According to EA, the game has sold 1.5 million copies across the US, Europe and Asia since its release last week. I think that is fairly weak for the leve of marketing I've seen. And make no mistake, it's not a coincidence that it was released a month before Black Ops.

Actually that's more than I was expecting...

...still not good...but I'm surprised it cracked a million this early...
