Spider-Man getting some good reviews, 85-90 range. IGN was a little critical about the lack of innovation (somewhat of an Arkam rip off I guess), but other than that everything is very positive.

I'm closing in on the end of God of War. I'm over half way done, probably pretty close to the end of the main story. Game is good, but a little confusing for me. Map is hard to understand, can't mark the map. leveling up is a bit of mystery as well.

You don't level up. You have a 'rating number' that is based on the combined strength of your skill and runes. Outside of that, you just find sets of 3 of the items that permanently increase your health bar and your Rage bar. Sony definitely wanted you to explore the map with landmarks versus waypoints and map icons. I like it. So many open world games had you chase waypoints.

Finished GOW yesterday. It was good, but not great. Completed the story and then was going to kill all the Valkyries, but I was having such a hard time finding the route to get to the waypoints on the map that I finally just said fuck it and moved on to Spider-Man after only a couple Valkyries. Also never really got the hang of the RPG elements of the game. Found the menu's to change out enchantments and runes etc to be very cumbersome and counterintuitive.

Combat was ok, but you could get by on mostly button mashing and spamming arrows. Story was good and graphics were great. Game felt way too linear for my likings.

Started in on Spider-man last night. 20 minutes in and already a ton of moves you have to learn. Going to be a bit of a learning curve.

There is a lot you can do. It took me a few hours to get into a flow based on the 'what / where / when' of enemies I was fighting.

yea it wasn't that long ago I had never played a RPG or open world game. Now they're my favorite. Expecting/hoping that RDR2 is up on the GTA5 and Witcher3 level of greatness.

a month into Spider-Man, about 75% done. Good game, but was hoping for a little more. Swinging around the city is fun and combat is fun, but all fights are just battles vs 10-50 non descript goons. Not nearly enough boss battles vs known villains.

Lots of cool suits to wear and neat suit powers and gadgets make combat a breeze.

Same thing happened in all the Batman: Akrham [whatever] series of games.

I 100%'d the story, side missions and collectibles, and I enjoyed every minute of it. That rarely happens to me with games these days, so I'm content. The game felt good, and I enjoyed the comic book story. I'd buy a sequel on day one also.

I never played those, but hear they share a lot of similarities. Slightly different combat though with Spidey being focused on aerial combat and less stealth than Batman.

Agree on all that, just was hoping for a bit more in terms of seeing more established villains throughout the story. Love the story, but I'm also a huge Spidey fan and eat that shit up.

Also the backpack collecting needed to be more challenging. The exact location shows up on the map when you press R3, would've liked some challenge to those. That said, I did like hearing about the contents of all the backpacks.

Stupid CODBO. I played the original so much my senior year in college when it came out 8 years ago or so. Absolutely loved and hated that fucking game. I hadn't bought any FPS shooters since then. I finally caved since all my friends must've gotten nostalgic and wanted to squad up. Back to fucking hating it. It's so rigged when you can't level up all day between classes.

Just a heads up if you do not know about it. Good place to get games cheap,Humble bundle, they do not only games but all kinds of techy stuff.

Borderlands 3 release date of 9/13/19! Loved the first 2. FPS with heavy RPG focus and tons of weapons to choose from.

Was really looking forward to Days Gone, PS4 exclusive. Came out Friday and reviews are pretty shitty. I was surprised, I was starting to believe that all Sony exclusives were high quality.

Days Gone looked shitty from the start.

What else we got, shakes? Kind of in the mood for a strict RPG without any window dressing.

Strict RPG's are off my radar, I only do the hack n slash RPGs.

However, the next great game on my radar is in the genre of "shooter looter". Borderlands 3 released an hour of gameplay footage and it looks pretty sweet. Comes out 9/13/19.

Original Baldur's Gate games, Neverwinter Nights, Fallout 1/2, Divine Divinity, The new Divinity games, Pillars of Eternity for a modern take on it etc etc.

I want to play Blair Witch 2019. I used to have the games that were made by Terminal Reality years ago. The graphics engine was good for the time.

Nocturne by Terminal Reality was a cool game back in the day. There was a Chicago map, where you had to evade cars that had guys with machine guns that would say, "Rub 'Em Out."

3 hours playing and I'm still messing around in Sector 7 Slums. I can't imagine how it's gonna be once I get out of Midgar.

I want to play FF7, but only being able to play 1/2 of it would be too annoying. Although it would be just like when it came out when I was in college, where I have to "work" like 4 hours a day and could spend the rest of the day grinding KotR materia. Also fuck having to pay extra for the cactaur and carbuncle materia. Remake FF Tactics you cowards.

Made it to Wall Market last night.

So much added stuff to do. Really enjoying all the additional side quests and things.

Only thing I miss is the Turks finger-snapping when they come on screen.

I'm in Chapter 14.

There is a lot that could have been improved upon, or reiterated.

FF7 is one of my favorite games ever. FF7R is an okay game. Maybe even a good game. But it certainly isn't great and has a myriad of issues I find surprising.

You're way ahead of me.

What has been bugging you? I haven't had many issues with it yet.
