Any luck? Consistent crashes on my end anytime I tried to start a new city. Full servers etc. The 20 mins of total game play I got I loved. Annoyed.

Not much better. Got it running and played for maybe half an hour. Tried to log on later and it was "busy". When I did get logged in, my city was gone. Tried starting a new one and kept getting errors.

EA is just the greatest.

It's still a pain to get on a server, but finally doing so and being able to spend a few hours with this game...lots of fun.

Also, you make mad money!

Servers were down for me intermittently between 9 and 12 last night. Didn't plat at all. Annoyed.

It'll be amazing eventually, but the company looks like schmucks with both how woefully unprepared their servers were in addition to the general f you response they are giving to people bitching.

After Diablo 3's launch issues...you'd think companies would do EVERYTHING in their power to avoid stuff like this...especially when it comes to AAA releases.

Right. Worst part is the simple addition of an offline mode would have prevented so many of these issues.

Is it an EA game? Sim city that is...
Cause I'm starting to loathe that company.

Day 3: one step forward and two steps back.

All NA servers full. Tried connecting to the "available" European servers...promptly received the queue message. Finally connected to the Oceanic server...only to receive a "unable to connect" message once the game proper loaded.

Agreed...credit where credit is due...the servers have been solid since Saturday.

That being said...being able to play for a while is exposing a major flaw...the cities are way too small. In the span of a few hours on Saturday afternoon, I filled up a city...that never happened with any of the other games.

Uncharted 2 won a bunch of GOTY, including SPIKE's, and Tomb Raider is immensely better than Uncharted 2. In addition, this is on all 3 major gaming platforms.

That isn't how these things work though...some years are more stacked than others...you could argue a year like 2007 had half a dozen titles better than Uncharted 2. Not all of them won a large stack of hardware.

Obviously we need to see how they actually are, but I'd stake some change on the new Bioshock and GTA entries (assuming the latter comes out this year) splitting the vast majority of the GOTY awards.

2009 was a strong year though.

inFamous, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2, AC2, Halo, L4D2, MW2, Forza 3, Arkham Asylum, Sims 3, etc..

Uncharted is now one of the storied franchies of this generation. Tomb Raider is, simply put, an Uncharted killer.

Longer, better story. Open world. Much better combat. Superior lead character (probably thanks to having a real actress). Better graphics / set pieces.

I love Uncharted...but Tomb Raider lived up to the hype ... and surpassed it.

Simply looking at things like the metacritic scores...while I'm sure Tomb Raider is a great game, I'm not seeing enough in the critical acclaim department to think people are going to be going out of their way to shower it with love come awards season.

By this metric, Tomb Raider appears to fall short of GOTY material for me...perhaps it will be, but I can't remember the last time a sub-90 metacritic title was winning GOTY awards in droves.

It seems like Heart of the Swarm suffers this same problem after reading a couple of minor spoiler reviews.

Speaking of Blizzard, the downtime on the computer with Sim City caused me to play a little WoW this past weekend. Not a bad little update.

I look forward to the first Steam Sale. I hear they gave it the full once over from the console version.

The PC version will def. look the best but a few hours in and the game looks great on my Xbox/55 inch TV, solid frame rate, good effects and the art direction is awesome. You can tell they had to cut some corners to make it all be smooth and playable but it is a great achievement on 8 year old hardware.

Had some Glyde money. Couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger on Tomb Raider. Bought the new Call of Duty instead.

Got it yesterday and played for about an hour.

First thought.

Very fun.

Second thought.

The exact same game as COD MW2

So I'm sure I'll tire of it quickly.

Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece. One of my very favorite games of all time.

I feel i was in the extreme minority who really loved FFVIII. Really enjoyed the gardens, the card game, gun sword. Hated charging the Aeons.

This game will probably ruin my life, just like Super Hexagon.

If they have to port it over to the PS4 than this sucker is probably never going to see the light of day.

Bought it on Saturday but yet to play. Need to beat Bioshock on Survior difficulty with no Vita Chambers for platinum so I'm finishing that up. Have you played it online yet, IMU?

I don't think it's a throw in Multiplayer. They did make Uncharted, after all, and many consider that one of the best multiplayers on Ps3. I've heard nothing but great things about TLOU multiplayer. Very original and unique is what I've heard from many friends.
