My moms old dryer is going. If we get her one of the new HC models will it need ant special hook ups or attachments?

No, Ultra Large Capacity,. He is Washers. The coils are going. Cost almost as much for a new one so might as well just get one for her, there are six of us so if my asshole sisters all chip in,I doubt it. The Big shot at 710 seems to never have money for anything but her family and booze.
