I like them too. I also think Sharp makes a good TV. We've had our LCD for 10 years and it's still going.

Love my Sharp 43" 4k. Don't know if you can get a better picture. I mentioned to BF that the 55' Sharp looks like a great deal.

And the calibration of the vizio doesn't do much, despite what some here will say.

Bottom line is will be getting a Samsung, have yet to determine size.

Need to see the laces on each HR this year

Don't fuck around. Just get an LG or a Samsung.

I bought my LCD Samsung before the Bears/Colts Super Bowl, and it's still going strong nearly 10 years later. It was and still is a great looking TV. I kind of wish it would die so I could upgrade to something more advanced, but I'd hate to let the old boy go.

Yea sharp also has good picture. Parts are very expensive if you need to fix them though

Sony is another good buy if you get their better models

But if youre going for value, lg is probably best.

There's no need to pay to fix them now because they're so dirt cheap.

sony always has the best engineering in their circuits... its a shame though since mid 90's they have a tendency to use crappy components in many of their models, but with most tv's this is the case these days. sony still has some of the best image quality in their tv's and like said above since tv's are so affordable now it really doesnt matter if they only last 10 years.

Bump.

Sony is crap.

We have to get a new TV. Apparently it has to be a smart tv possibly a 4K. We are trying to decide between a Samsung or LG. Which is better and is a 4k worth it? There are some differing opinions here.

Can't go wrong with Samsung. A lot of people prefer that brand over anything else. The picture quality is great as long as you get the right specs.

My thoughts exactly.

Samsung has been solid for me for years. I still have one that works well enough from 2005 though the tech is outdated.

LG sucks. It will crap out on you after 2-3 years.

Had good luck with Samsung and I have a Panasonic that is still strong after 10 years but I'm not even sure they make TVs anymore.

Vizio has crappy sound quality.

Sharp Aquos is awesome for sports and other bright shows but the dark scenes are horrid.

Ah but I also got the vizio sound bar and it is phenomenal.

I was wondering if anyone has a curved tv, looking to possibly upgrade before the football season, I usually get TV's where I get my food, but may go to Best Buy too.

Hey DB,
I'm in the same boat with my 65 inch Mitsubishi. It still works, never had an issue in 13 years of ownership. The thing is when I go and watch one of my smaller and newer TV's,there is no comparison. The picture is so clear and vibrant compared to the old technology. My wife gave me the OK to get a new one,but still have not gone shopping.
