Leader of Lap 100 at the Daytona 500 will get a $200,000 bonus - which is as much or more than the winner of last year's races at Bristol, both Martinsville races, both Michigan races, Pocono, and Phoenix received. Generally, it is the equivalent of finishing 2nd or 3rd at just about any race on the circuit last year.

Will that be enough to make Carl Edwards stop parading around in the back for 193 laps? Stay tuned.

I just checked the lineups and scenarios for the duels and it is awful this year. An entire 3 spots hang in the balance and the list of cars that haven't qualified are highlighted by Mikey, Robby Gordon and Kenny Wallace....and Bill Elliot or Terry Labonte can get the past champions provision. Fuck that. Bring up a handful of nationwide drivers and let them have at it or something. This list of old and tired acts is of no interest to me.
