This pre-race show on Fox is fun-bad. Michael Waltrip being made fun of Larry the Cable Guy (drunk already) to Gronkowski doing XFL-style interviews with the Monster Energy girls is probably not something Fox wanted.

They're going to have to take off the restrictor plates and get rid of Toyota for it to mean what it used to for me

And so much talking about "team" strategy

I also don't like the "stage" crap. It's 500 miles for a reason. Next they'll be giving these snowflakes and their snowflake fans participation points to go with their little league participation trophies.

Cale Yarborough must be disgusted

I don't think the problem has anything to do with Toyota or restrictor plates.

As to the stage thing, I am tempted to agree with you, but this is the first race with the stage thing. I am willing to give it a chance to see how it goes.

NASCARs problems IMO are more from their desire to be all things to all people, instead of just being who they are and have always been.

I swear to fucking Christ, it's gone like this: watch race for 30 seconds; wreck. Switch over to golf for a few minutes. Switch back to race: 30 seconds to next wreck.

Doesn't help that Darrell Waltrip is morphing into Hawk Harrelson.

Brutal all around.
