And Target leaves Larson! This kid has future champ written all over him.

https://sports.yahoo.com/target-leaving ... 37085.html

Target leaves because they want to devote more sponsorship dollars to soccer. The article lists all the major sponsors who have left the sport in the last few years and it's a big list.

Poor ratings, poor attendance, losing sponsors, and you know they are taking a much lower TV deal the next time around. And if IIRC, the Monster sponsorship is for only 2 years and they have to notify Nascar this summer if they are going to continue in the future. Only a 2 year contract for a title sponsor? That tells me that no one else was seriously bidding.

Bad times for Nascar.

Viewership down? Guess even the motor heads finally figured out watching others drive in circles is boring as hell.

Oddly I'm enjoying today's race at Phoenix.

I have been trying to get back into things.

Some of these new rules make it hard tho…..turned race on...says 15 laps to go...and I am thinking the race is almost over only to find out it is 15 laps left in stage 1.

The Hueytown gang, Yarborough and the old guys would hate it I'm sure.

My Draftking picks suck this year. Today I had Keso, Elliott, and Jones. Elliott had a white flag violation and dropped to the rear of the field after leading. Jones had some issue with his brake or suspension and is several laps down. Then Kesolowski had some issue and dropped a couple laps. Oh yeah- Suarez and Byron were a couple other picks of mine and they a lap down. I should just stick to Draftking hockey were I have been doing pretty well.

Auto racing should be at 2pm Central on a Sunday on ABC Wild World of Sports. I'd say hosted by Jim McKay, but he's dead.

Too many race weekends, too many races per weekend, too many channels. Add in crappy hosts and commentators, and you're fucked.

The problem with Nascar is not the hosts and commentators. Fox and NBC both put out a quality product.

Anybody notice the number of empty seats at Indy? Wow! In the past the telecast didn't show the empty stands as much but NBC gave quite a few shots.

Not sure where to put this, I thought they moved the Indy race to September mostly because of the heat, but then I hear yesterday and I think an interesting move, putting this race July 4th weekend next year, seems like forever that Daytona has had that spot and I think something they should have stuck with in my opinion.

Phoenix was a great track when CART ran there.

Was CART the ones at Michigan, in early 2000's that to me had some of the best racing I have seen ever, I think due to drafting, it was like 5 or 6 guys going for the lead each lap, and if 1 card made a mistake, you would have had a really bad accident.

The old CART Triple Crown of Indy, Michigan, and Pocono.
