Carl is going to have to pass Stewart to win the title.

Thanks, KS. I was lurking for a while from work when the race first started- so wanted to log in and post.

I feel so humbled to wear the mantle of Champion, it was a total team effort.

I'd like to thank my sponsors: GE, Westinghouse, Areva, Master Lee, Sunoco Fuel, Goodyear Tires, Trojan Condoms, Mogen-David, Bushwood Country Club and the Re-Elect Governor Daniel J. LePetomane Committee.

I'd like to send a BIG Shout Out to the best racelog in the Racing World- CSFB's Big Chair and Huge Stooll!!

Now it's time to prepare to defend our title!

Yes. With Carl currently maintaining a 3 point lead, let's look at your scenario:

Smoke wins, Edwards 2nd.....Smoke gains one on Carl, cuts the lead to 2.
Edwards leads a lap, the lead is back to 3. But if Smoke wins, it also means he leads a lap right? Back to a 2 pt lead for Carl.
Carl leads the most laps, his lead is now back to where it started at 3.
But since Tony won, he gets 3 bonus points, which makes them tied.

Tony holds all tiebreakers.

HELLO! :D

It's what I do folks. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Nice call, KS. Never thought it would acually play out....

Great ending to the season with Smoke winning the championship! And Carl Edwards was very classy in defeat.

Enjoyed the contest this year don, looking forward to starting up again at Daytonna!

Even though rain stopped the race three times yesterday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it was outstanding drama watching the last 35 laps or uninterrupted on ESPN after the late NFL action. I tip my hat to Tony "Smoke" Stewart, crew chief Darian Grubb & the folks with the #14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevy for winning not only the Ford 400, but winning his third Sprint Cup title and first as an owner/driver.
