Speeding to catch up to the pack is actually encouraged in most cases and is part of the rules - that's the "wave around" rule and the lucky dog free pass.

i know it's encouraged, but it's obviously dangerous. A caution is called so drivers are "cautious". I'm surprised this is the first time this has happened.

i would hope this finally forces nascar to FINALLY cover all areas of the track with fixed cameras. my god how did they not get the best collision in nascar history in a good frame?
