One day late, but Jimi Hendrix died fifty years ago yesterday.

Some consider him the greatest guitarist ever. What's for certain is that he was a pioneer and guitar wizard.

Here he is at the Albert Hall, which was an excellent performance, especially of Voodoo Child.

I can appreciate his greatness as a guitarist, but I never cared for his songs.

I have a boxed set of his with all kinds of live performances and unreleased stuff. Was big into him for a while but haven’t really listened for many years. Ultra talented guy. As usual like most good things my brother turned me onto him. He had a great taste in music. The only artist he was into that I never understood was Frank Zappa.

The greatest ever. He redefined the instrument. No one will ever do that to his level ever again.

Steve Vai is the greatest. Just ask him. He'll tell you all about it.

His drummer, Mitch Mitchell, is outstanding.

Which is Odd because of how much he reveres Joe Satriani, but yeah...Vai is the greatest.

I love Steve Vai...I love Joe Satriani.
I also love Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads and MANY others.

The thing they all have in common is they're below the #1 spot on the GOAT list held by James Marshall Hendrix.
