I'd consider The Band essentially a Canadian group even though Levon Helm was an American.

My, how far Arcade Fire has fallen ......

The Hip aren't ahead of Leonard Cohen. I'm not sure they're even ahead of Broken Social Scene. But I understand what they mean to Canadians as like the one band that got over huge at home but never really made it in the States. They're rock's hockey.

Neil Young is #1 to me. Rush had cool songs but got a little lame sometimes. Neil Young from 1969-1979 (Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere through Rust Never Sleeps) was just one great album after another, year after year. It's in the conversation with David Bowie's 1970s as the best run anyone's ever had.

List is invalid as Triumph is not on there. Rick Emmett is one of the best lead guitarists/lead singers ever!

Also, Gordon Lightfoot should be high on any list. The guy is almost 80 and is still out there touring.

BTO and Steppenwolf should be on there as well.

None of them are as good as the Dayglo Abortions.

Triumph was the "Lay It on the Line" band, right? That's all I know of them. I feel like everyone's playing an elaborate joke on me by mentioning them alongside Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, and Rush.

They also had the "Magic Power". Poor man's Rush.

Rush isn't bad, but I still think they are overrated. They are one of those bands where people get upset if you say you don't like them. For some reason everyone has to like Rush and the fact that it took them so long to get into the HOF was a complete travesty.

Exactly. This dead guy isn't even the number one Canadian singer named Gordon. And he's dead.

Neil Young shouldn't even be mentioned with those hacks and bustouts.
