His brother Dave was a fine penalty killer.

Was he technically a serial killer?

Anyway:

Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy, Zodiac, HH Holmes

I put that more as a killing spree than a serial killer.

Bundy is the all-time most nefarious serial killer. he did everything: escaped prison (twice), spanned the entire country, evaded capture for decades, and was fittingly executed...and still seemed to have a smile on his face.

he was an absolute chameleon, and knew how to use that to his advantage.

the original night stalker, aka golden state killer, is up there with zodiac and jack the ripper as far as impossibly deft. i don't think a killer like that can exist today, with all the ways you can identify people.

Bundy is really captures the essence of the American serial killer better than anyone else.

Yes. He was a good-looking smooth talker who embodied the word "psychopath."

A good serial killer has to be charming and handsome... which makes me feel better about the chances that no one on this board is a serial killer.

That's a good call. He taunted police about it and was a married, church going, Boy Scout leader. Stephen King wrote a short story inspired by the case. It was a pretty good read.

Yep. And he's probably the best example for pro death penalty people. Serial killer who escapes twice is pretty much someone who needs to die.

That's a solid list. Probably 4 of the most famous of all time. If you're going creativity, you could swap out people on there - John Mohammed and Lee Malvo (equal representation) or Harold Shipman for the numbers alone.
