Browning was arrested and charged with an OVI (or DUI) for falling asleep and driving his car through a house on August 27, 2022 in Georgetown, Ohio. His BAC was 0.127.

A few additional facts from ESPN article.... 62 is way too young

Debbie Browning, his wife, died in March, and on Dec. 14, Browning pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving, according to Brown County (Ohio) Municipal Court.

Browning also made news off the field when he once left the dugout during a game in 1993 at Wrigley Field and was spotted still in uniform sitting on an adjacent rooftop. The team fined him $500.

I remember him sitting on a rooftop in his uniform. I thought that was fun.

Seems like it was one of those bullpen dare type of things.

He would probably be cancelled for it today for some reason.

Marty Brennaman with the call

"He is ready for the 2-2 to Woodson and here it comes … and there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run"?

Kind of got screwed over in National League RoY voting, before the sabermetric wave took hold. Had a WAR of 4.1 vs. the winner, Vince Coleman (2.4).

That same year Ozzie won RoY in the AL, also probably undeservedly. His WAR (2.3) was below such immortals as Stew Cliburn (3.1), Teddy Higuera (3.1), Oddibe McDowell (2.4), and Brian Fisher (2.4).

If ol' Franchester had referred to "one of the f@g capitals of the world" on a hot mic, he would have been like "that's right, I said what I said" and no one would have done anything.
