Marshal died in 2018.

That explains her appearance then.

You're correct and I used to watch it. Georges remark to the TV producer about why anyone would watch a show about nothing applied to L&S...because it's on TV.

if you look at say a Wikipedia listing of 70's sitcoms, there aren't too many that were actually good. like Maude? Alice ?
Taxi

That seems like it should be good
I don’t think I’ve ever watched more than a few episodes
Maybe I’ll give it a shot
I do like me some Bob James, it’s an all time theme for sure

MASH was a great 70's sitcom. Happy Days was great, until it wasn't. Once Arnold's burned down and Fonzie started becoming a functioning member of society the magic was gone. Barney Miller and The Bob Newhart Show were great too. The 70's had some great shows.

Happy Days generated the phrase, jump the shark.

It's not on the same level as All in the Family or Sanford, but its pretty good.

Happy Days was very good for about 3 years but turned bad long before the jumped the shark episode. When the show became more about Fonzie than Ritchie & friends it became far less interesting.

On a side note: If anyone here has not seen the jumped the shark episode, you really should. It truly is fun bad. I caught it recently when flipping though channels at a hotel somewhere and it just amazed me to think that this was one of the top-rated shows when it aired.

MASH was top notch in many ways, but is almost unwatchable for me now because of the fake laugh track (which they thankfully avoided using during surgery scenes).

I feel like Taxi was good but Judd Hirsch actually held it back. Unpopular opinion I’m sure.

Yeah the shark was bad. I think I was done with it when the guys were in college.

Cannot agree more on both counts. Especially with the strange Jump the Shark episode which made no sense even as a kid.
