Apparently dude was fairly successful in business, making half a mil in a year running a solo operation selling fake diplomas (who the hell is buying these things, Indians?). He ended up losing most of his minor fortune making bad investments and had to move back home with this mom and that seems to have set in motion the killing. But, yeah, obviously dude had the ability to run a business and turn a profit, even if it was a scam business. I guess technically not a scam-scam, as people got what they paid for-- he was selling picks and shovels to end user scammers.

I imagine Jim Jones 900 kills at Jonestown would top all, but he didn't personally pull the trigger on many if any of those.

It's documented and verified that he volunteered for an extended psychological experiment while at Harvard. It's been widely reported that he was later a subject in MK Ultra, but I don't think the CIA verified this.

I don't think it's so outrageous to think these clandestine organizations play a long game and have assets out there they may never use. I think the chinese do this through the us university system, which is all too happy to enroll people who will pay full boat for a degree.

from what i've read here and there it was socialization/dating that might've sent Ted around the bend. Initially at University of Michigan as a grad student? And then at Berkeley as a grad assistant/asst prof (maybe?). At the end he was obsessed with the inter-library loan chick at the library in the town near where he lived in Montana. Probably if his brother had just gotten Ted a hooker every now and then, no one would have needed to die.

But I imagine the government fucking with his brain chemistry at that age softened him up for the killing.


Did they ever figure out if Kaczynski was the original Tylenol tamperer killer? I think there were copycat deaths, some woman took out her husband out in like Des Plaines or something with cyanide in his headache medicine bottle, iirc.
