Was just informed of this a few minutes ago. Very sad day, indeed.
He and I were of the same age. Hits home a bit.
Reader and I rarely agreed on anything. Nothing new for me in that regard. But, we had a great deal of fun here many years ago.

He, Spaulding, Dr. Ken, me and many others, pretty much hung out in the old drinky thread four or five nights a week. It was our internet bar. Great fun was had by one and all.
Reader was a good man, was proud of and loved his boys. Had many PM exchanges with him during that time.
Hell, I gave his induction speech into the old CSFMB HOF, ran by Keeping Score. I was also inducted which shows you how meaningless it was. That was just before the great schism when he started the new board. This place has always been filled with whiney little cocksuckers.

RIP, my friend. Maybe we’ll still have that beer one day.

I had no idea he was that sick. I only met him once, with Chus & Dr. for a Saints/Lions game at BWW. We would text about LSU and the Sainst, and wish each other Merry Christmas/Happy New Year's, etc.

My deepest sympathies to his family, especially his children.

RIP, my fellow Saints fan. I will definitely miss the support in the threads and during the seasons...

I feel bad about Johnny Rowan, but I feel a whole lot worse about this. Leon and I had gotten more than a little chippy with each other over the past few years, but I always considered him a friend. I remember being on vacation a while ago and I got a text from him out of nowhere that said something like, "I know we've gotten nasty with each other on the board but I hope we're still friends." I just remember that made me so happy. R.I.P. Reader.

He was a brilliant guy but more importantly, a wise man. I considered him an internet friend from very early on. Like all good friends he both challenged and encouraged me. He was a slavic brother.

Huge loss for this board and the many other communities he influenced. I know he loved his blood children as well as all of those he coached at Jackie Robinson West over the years.

I think it would be appropriate if anyone feels comfortable in posting serivces information, if there are any.

From his first post to his last, he was always a must-read for me. His unique style, perspective, and sense of humor made for an incredibly engaging message board persona.

While I never met him in person, I wish I had. He seemingly was a remarkable person.

I had no idea.

I don't even know what to say. He loved to put his digs in at me but he was always smart and good-natured about it. Meeting him was a pleasure as he was a very gracious man.

I can't believe it. I'm going to miss him. It's horrible. Very sad. I'm at a loss for words.

He had told me a few months ago about a procedure he was doing but he made it sound like no big deal and put a dig in at UofI as he always would with me and told me to wish my wife well because he was just that kind of guy.

My wife and I, as WZ said had met him at a bar for a football game. This is going to mess me up all day.

Yeah, he wanted to keep his battle private. At the end, I thought that was a terrible idea. Flowers are better when you can smell them. His last 5 or 6 years was a challenge with various debilitating medical issues.
