Speaking of Jim Belushi - is he quietly turning into Bill Murray? From Chicago, doesn't live here anymore, shows up at any Chicago based event on TV when it is in primetime especially ABC ones.

Jimmy B moved back to Chicago last year, but I know what you mean.

I do agree with you in the sense he is not even close to the diehard fan he claims to be and the TV Networks love dragging him out for any Cubs/Bears game and I would like someone else representing us. Murray seems to know what is going on every single time he is interviewed and I know he follows the teams

Anyone ever go to his Bar ? Wishes on Southport- He bought the building with Grace and opening this place, it was terrible!

I ordered Chicken Wings and some guy went to the basement, got a box of Tyson Chicken Wings from the Freezer and put hem in a Toaster Oven

I think he might even still own the building, and it is now? Lucas? or Locas?

From everything I've heard, Bill Murray is the real deal. I remember reading somwhere (Entertainment Weekly, maybe?) that when he was in Italy filming that "Life Aquatic" movie, he rented a satellite TV hookup specifically so that he could get Cubs games, and then put out an open invitation to cast and crew to come watch with him.

I know Murray is a big Cubs fan. He proved it to me once when Kasper or maybe it was Chip interviewing him in the booth. He was talking about this pitcher the Cubs just brought up and he knew stuff about him and what he's done in his last few starts. So he's not a phony.

Well, I'm not saying but I'm saying.....

Great to be a fan but your mug doesn't have to show up every time there is some big game. I mean I guess when you are loaded and busy that happens but it just seems Belushi and Murray really do that....like in the Illini run a couple of years back - same type of thing.

I'm just lacking sleep the last few days and grumpy I guess.

Steve Dahl just spent most of Wednesday on this same topic; he & Buzz spent all day ripping Belushi while also saying how much they like him.
They ended it by saying he's the "funniest living Belushi."

Billy Peterson also in that category of real diehard

I can second that. One of the times I saw Peterson on Conan O'Brien pretty much all he did was talk about the Cubs.

William Peterson is a phony Cub fan !

Watch "This Old Cub." Peterson talks about bleeding Cubbie blue and living and dying through the 1969 season, which he'd never forget.

He talks about remembering Phil Regan leading the Bleacher Bums in cheers.

Sorry, Bill! It was Dick Selma who was the cheerleader!

A season you'lll never forget? Yeah, right, you Hollywood fake !

The worst is Cusack. At a bunch of Cubs games and then when the Sox start their 2005 playoff run he calls Reinsdorf for tickets. Reinsdorf tells him to go to hell.

I'm not saying Billy Corgan is a fake but the same thing happened to him with Reinsdorf over Sox playoff tix last year; Corgan was told A Big Fat No since he spent so much time on camera at the Cubs playoffs in 2003.
But hey come on - playing both sides of the fence, or switching sides, or being a 2-face - now that's a Score Hosts Specialty!
