If we are hiding at home by football season we are more fucked than just missing out on football.

We will be eating footballs at that point.

There are few bigger Walton fans than me, but I didn't really like Walton yesterday. I probably only listened for the first 10 minutes, but it felt like he was trying to find the special sauce, but was flailing.

You have to create an anonymous account to do that. MANY have created anonymous accounts to torch people at the station. Mac was the only person who put his name behind his "attacks".

Know your all happy for me, but go back to the days of straining to hear the last few minutes of the Ditka show as the signal faded out during the days of the low power 820 signal. At it's best the station was and is from time to time a much needed refuge for those of us that live or work in highly stressful environments, as Mac used say sports are the sandbox of life. The further the station gets away from it's roots, which was a highly personal connection to listeners via listener participation (callers) and bits (give shows unique content), the more the station becomes an elongated podcast. When shows are filled with gambling talk (can see the anywhere, why waste my time), statistic based analysis (can see this all elsewhere, why waste my time), and political analysis (there are entire networks that do this much better, why waste my time), you fail to provide unique content that differentiates your product from the multitude of podcasts. Station personnel may not like it, but providing meatball, hype local content is the only thing that makes WSCR any different from any other outlet.

Les making that account to torch Sweica for getting him fired was one of the best. Is that thread still around somewhere?

Have you read some of the questions in this thread?

Yes. Let's just call it a feeling out process. I know it's just my opinion, but Len Kaspar never got out of his lawn chair. It was a dull read. This place can be like the hotel room in Hangover. There's a chicken walking around, a tiger in the bathroom, and there's Whistler over in the corner taking a shit. Either endorse it or tell your story walkin'.

Come on Mitch, you gotta lift the no sound drops rule. I want to hear how the Bulls only real threat to getting to the Eastern Conference finals now that Lebron is in LA is the New Orleans Pelicans. I want to hear that as part of an opening montage. That is probably the worst thing I have ever heard on the air and it will never be on the air again.

His little rant was more personality then I have heard the entire time he has been on the show.

The Score lacks any real unique personalities that make me want to tune in. Mac seems bored, Bernstein bitter that he still works in sports radio, Larry too giddy that he works in sports radio. The morning show's 5 at 5 is the only time I feel like I am getting unfiltered opinions from the hosts.

A great example is the Bill Walton interview. That guy was off his rocker crazy yesterday and all we get is a couple giggles in the background from Mac and Parkins. Have fun with the guy and play along. Make fun, without insulting him and go outside the box once in a while. So many possibilities with that interview and it was handled with the same structure as a normal interview.

The callers are not the issue, it is the skill required to make the callers interesting and a must listen because you don't know what will happen from caller to caller. As the format is right now, I know every Q & A bullet list for the callers, athletes, reporters, and expert. This format is very boring and generic. We get the same Q & A multiple times a day, just from different voices. How many ways can you say the Bulls need to clean out the front office before you tune out whatever personality is telling you they need to clean out the front office.

We don't need 10 different people repeating the same crap, that we just read on social media or heard from the other stations 10 people repeating the same crap that you now feel the need to repeat.

I rather lose all the teams support for the station and actually be able to hear some real opinions and give the callers the freedom to express their opinions without some corporate brown-noser yelling at them.

There is another thread where he tells the rest of the story under a different screen name. People called him out on it and he stopped posting here.

You have to create an anonymous account to do that. MANY have created anonymous accounts to torch people at the station. Mac was the only person who put his name behind his "attacks".

Les making that account to torch Sweica for getting him fired was one of the best. Is that thread still around somewhere?

Probably. You would have to find the section and look through it. It's not searchable. Or just search Les's posts.

Are we sure that wasn’t Trump posting?

So, did Les write the book or did he go JDC on the project?

Wait what, there's a station rule outlawing the use of drops?

Please don't.

Bill Walton interviews are not interviews. The dude just starts talking...for 27 minutes.

All I'll say is this Matt and drop it as Parkins sort of addressed it already. 2 weeks ago one of the more openly and overtly antagonistic people to both her coworkers and listening demographic was relieved of her duties. She is no longer a co-worker of anyone there. Mike Murphy, Mike North and others have been talked about in negative terms after theyve left the station by on air staff. Do I expect Parkins to come here and say " Im glad that fucking b1itch is gone, she was terrible at her job, no one here liked here , etc " ? Not in the least. ( anymore than I expect Len Kasper to come here and criticize Theo , Jed or anything the Cubs do , which much like Parkins, Len explained he wouldnt be doing when he first signed on here ) There are definitely ways to convey how you feel without going scorched earth ( and choosing the OMG WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE !! route isnt it , especially when Parkins went scorched earth on a different sports personality and the same thing can be said about him) but to open yourself up to questions here in the wake of mass layoff of people when there's history of Score people going after other Score people, and this particular Score person has openly admitted to wanting this very place doxxed, its not out of the realm of reason that he's going to be asked questions about her . Its not a matter of needing Parkins validation its more a matter of his acting like questions about her are somehow out of line or unexpected.
