Getting rid of under-performers is important if they are not meeting requirements of the job. However, you don’t do it to scare the remaining employees. Under-performers, like IMU, are usually well known around the office and negatively impact morale.

But you don’t just fire them. They need to be given clear goals and performance targets, and then time to meet those standards. You should discuss progress and provide an update at regular intervals.

In many cases, the job is a bad fit for the employee and the employer.

Insufferable rectums like Steve would likely have people quitting before they could get fired.

Do I have my history correct...
1) He was a cop
2) ran into some family money / family business and took that over
3) Thinks he and Mac are "friends"
4) Likes to consider himself still a cop but is NOT.
5) Posts on a message board where he's alienated every other member with his elitist, racist, meatball thoughts

I'm still going to attend even if that racist piece of garbage is there too.

How many times do I have to apologize for our competing NASCAR contests, don?

Nope. It was sold out before I got around to buying in.

I was not able to make it work with my schedule.

Sounds like a load of bs. Honesty is the best policy.

Count me in. I went to buy my spot, and it was sold out.

You got a guy, Doc?

It was a glorious day to play golf at 7 Bridges. Olin Krutz, Bill Wennington, Dave Wannsteadt and Ron Kittle all took part in the festivities. The group I was in (Mac, Shep and Golf Boy as well as myself) did not play a well as I had hoped we might, but it was great fun and the lunch before ( Gibsons) and dinner after, were very good. Long day, but a fun one.
