My biggest problem with his "apology" was how he spent time talking and specifically referencing the charities and charity work he is involved in. I took it as a subtle way to praise himself for the good work he's done in order to lessen the damage.

If you really are simply trying to apologize why does the charity you started matter at all?

Yes. I was able to borrow 1,00,0000 $ and I just faded North on his bets and stock tips.

I didn't see fit to listen to this thing, but I really hope Matt didn't take a prepared statement at face value. Come on. The p.r. guy that B&B had on even said the most disingenuous thing you can do is read a prepared statement word for word.

Yeah, but is he involved in over 200 of them?

Nothing at all. People just like to bitch. He did what he had to do, but people always act as though they are owed and explanation for everything. He said what he wanted to say, he apologized to everyone, that should be it. But of course it won't be...

I don't think he should have had to do this at all. But I think when celebrities get in front of the camera with the prepared statement it comes off as extremely fake. Everyone knows he didn't write that.

If he read a prepared statement or spoke from the heart it would not have mattered. Those who are tired of the Tiger Woods drama, Tiger Woods haters, or people who relish in athletes who fuck up would have been pissed off anyway. And who says this was written for him? Tigers a pretty (book)smart guy...

I see your point, but I would want to curry favor any way I could. This is all a formality to recreate Tiger's public persona. I think he handled it exactly like he should have to get that ball rolling.

With ESPN's propaganda machine in motion, he's well on his way. Five moths from now, this will be a distant memory...

In 5 months after when he wins his first tournament, the ESPN propaganda machine will be running all the Tiger sob stories about how he overcame adversity, and everyone will feel sorry for him. Nobody will forget it, but they will turn it into a story of redemption. They love shit like that.

the problem was it sounded like a prepared statement by his lawers, but assembled in a way to make it seem like tiger wrote it. this is calculation beyond what most people comprehend. this is white house presidential type of politics going on here, tiger always has and always will be LYING HIS ASS OFF. and thats fine. i couldnt care less. but it irritates the hell out of me when people think any part of this guy is 'sincere'.

We can't be sure until he shows us his birth certificate.

Actually Ill amend it to one year after he starts playing again. Thats about how long the Kobe thing lasted.

McGwire did not read a prepared statement, and the same people who are posting here ripping Tiger, ripped him as well.

Tiger doesn't owe me an explanation for anything he's done.
I'm not the one he exchanged vows with (if such a thing was even legal).
He provided me with countless hours of entertainment on a golf course and lately reading about his ho's.
Hope he's back on the course soon, cause the current crop of pros just doesn't capture my attention.

Why is Lou Pinella commenting on the Tiger Woods story?

What reporter asked him that question? I guess Cubs reporters are so used to asking for Wood/Prior injury reports that they don't know what to even ask anymore.

I'm not sure, but on the video version of "TMZ", they ask unsuspecting celebrities idiotic, senseless questions on stuff similar to what that one reporter asked Lou Piniella about Tiger...Check it out at 5:30 & 11p this eve on FOX32, and you'll know what I mean...

Tigers press conference went exactly as I expected. He was cold, insincere, forced, & read every word of it. I hope his return to Buddhism helps to heal him. What a fucking Douchebag.

Tiger would have been better off telling IMG & his handlers to fuck off & just speak with some cliff notes, rather than reading a speech that was written by someone else. It was clear that someone told him to speak slowly. At times he was pausing so much between words he actually sounded challenged.

It didn't matter what he said or did today. Either way it would have been wrong according to you and your fellow B&B lemmings.
