Find it interesting that all the notable and entertaining bits on WSCR happened back when they were doing the opposite of smart fans radio, Bernstein still will go back to his North or meatball fan voice. It's almost like they realize the need for this type of interaction with listeners, but cannot figure out how to do it effectively. They also play bits from Francesa frequently, making fun of his takes. I doubt Francesa even knows or cares who Parkins is, funny that WSCR has to rely on people from the past or present that actually do sports talks radio with it's odd and often goofy interactions and reactions to provide their supposedly, "smart fans", brand of talk with content.

The back and forth between the meatball guys at the bar was what North and Mac used to try to bring to the airwaves. To do anything else is a seemingly meaningless effort to apply logic to the rather illogical realm of sports fandom where supposedly learned people spend tons of money on stupid crap like team gear and waste money on overpriced tickets. The irrational emotional investment in your local team defies logic and is why the term fan is from the term fanatic which is usually applied to religious zealots or rape and pillaging vikings.

As Mac says "We're the toy store". Not everything has to be real.serious.radio.

Probably in minority, but I never got Terry Boers. I find him extremely untalented and adds zero.

As horrible as Bernstein turned out to be, he had talent and was funny. I just never got the Terry thing.

I also was not a Boers fan. Nothing against the man personally.

By all accounts he’s a tremendous guy.

But I always felt like he was doing a bad Letterman impression on the show.

I liked him better on The Sportswriters. He seemed more natural there.

Interested Uncle Terry was always great. He appeared to coast at the end and allowed Bernstein to drive the car into a ditch. He had a different level of energy when paired with Goff or Drinky.

CH, did you pull that off a transcript? Because I swear it is word for word as I heard it on the Score not too long ago- interrupted the caller's initial argument and never let him back on. I remember yelling at the radio for the host to "Shut up, Douchebag".

Haha, not knowingly, but every time I caught the Parkins Sunday night show JIP from Sunday Night Football, it was Parkins babbling on, then he'd put a caller on, give him about five seconds, act like the caller had just hijacked the airwaves, do the whole "okay now we're going to have something called a conversation" act, and then go back to babbling. Truly awful radio every time.
