Parkins called Derrick rose a "top-5, maybe top-3 Bulls player of all time". If that is the extent of his basketball analytical ability, they will be well suited to stick to football and baseball. My God, is that a horrendous thought.

It's an odd position that Parkins decided to take ... there's no reasonable way to support it either through stats/metrics or meatballism. Maybe he adopted it purely to attract attention, both good and bad ... in which case it's a decent first go at it.

It should be noted that Rose's MVP season, he was probably one of the "Worst" MVP winners ever. He was the best player on the best regular season team(thanks to an Upstart Thibs and his dynamic defense)

The "MVP" part of it has nothing to do with it. My point is that - in a single year - you could make the argument that Rose was the third best Bull ever. You just couldn't make the argument (or even come close) if you're talking about an entire career.

This argument is old and stupid. Derrick single-handedly won 62 games that season. Carlos Boozer missed the first 23 games that year and Joakim Noah missed 30 games from mid-December to mid-February. Keith Bogans was the starting SG all year. He averaged 4.4 points per game!

Rose's contributions, Thib's nasty defense and a shitty Eastern Conference won them 62 games

Jimmy Butler is having the same year Rose had in 2010(with better defense). Jimmy won't sniff an MVP vote. My goodness what could be the difference, oh that's right, the East is kind of tougher now(and the coach sucks).
