I know he has the Cubs job, but man, Grote seems like a good fit with Spiegs. I think he's funny and knowledgeable, but also doesn't take himself seriously or talk down to people. I really wish this station would stop hiring weirdo egomaniacs. "It's not fun"

I'm going to assume not, I would bet the Cubs gig is much more lucrative for him and he wouldn't even consider rocking that boat.

I like Grote but I've only heard him in short stints.

Still, I think he'd be good.

Grote ain't like the rest of them. Bernstein would never allow him in his cult.

Didn't Grote have a big drinking problem or something? Wonder if the Score would invest in him since it was relatively public.

It would seem he would have this Cubs gig for life if he wants it. time slots at the SCORE come and go like the wind.

Yes, he was very open about spending a significant time in rehab a couple three years back

Bernsie loves him. I expected him to show up somewhere on the Score, and it could be mornings down the road.

I'm not sure how he'd be in large doses but he has s personality and is mostly likable. Even a bit of a meatball. Hard to believe Bernsie likes him

1. Bernstein doesn't like (let alone love) anybody at the SCORE.

2. The only ones he pretends to like are the ones that repeat his agenda/thoughts.

3. Goff & Larry have no idea that 1 and 2 are true.

grote seems to have an easy going personality that would work with anyone at the station... but if given a daily platform to express thoughts, I don't think there is much he would say.

I liked listening to Grote & Rosenbloom. That was a once a week thing though. Don't know if I could handle it more than that.

I really enjoyed that show. Wake and bake was a good Saturday morning listen.

I'd like to bring back The Chicago Sports Exchange.

I agree. He sat in with Bernstein once and didn't really contribute much. I think he just has a better rapport with rosenbloom
