Dictionary says both. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/gif I say it <ghif> so that is what it is. |

i remember being at a BBS conference at a steak & ale in springfield mo 2 decades ago and there was this argument two people were having over .GIF and SysOp pronunciations. to WWN's linked video, the one guy was like "it's not a jraphic image!" (this guy pronounced .GIF with the hard 'G', but pronounced SysOp seis-op), and the other guy said "well it's not SEIStem operator!". who knew almost 25 years later, a new generation of clowns would carry this argument on. |
