Parkins was super-excited about Wood Harris (Avon Barksdale from HBO's The Wire) being on their show today.

That is apparently not going to happen.

Honesty? You want honesty? Alright, honestly, I think you're nothing. Nothing but a pure waste of God-given talent. You don't listen to nobody, man! Not even Parkins or Spiegel! Shiver push on the line every time and you blow right past 'em! Push 'em, pull 'em, do something! You can't run over everybody in this league, and every time you do you leave one of your teammates hanging out to dry, in this case, the midday show! That's the thanks these guys get for trying to help you promote 9/11. You know what? Fuck you, Julius, fuck you.

The Wire is the best show, and probably best piece of art, in history. It should be required viewing to graduate high school.

He's an idiot for thinking Avon would call anyway. Avon doesnt go near a phone. It would be Bodie who would get a ride from Wee Bey to give the info to Stringer.

How many times has Spiegel paid for sexual contact? To his credit, he said under ten.

Cheers to redskingreg. It takes a lot of courage to come out and admit that you're a flaming queer to the entire board.

They had to cut the interview short because Harris' phone kept crapping out. It was OK, but the "intelligent" comments and points Parkins had loaded up and ready to go about The Wire had all been said 10+ years ago.

Parkins' fawning tainted the whole thing a bit, too. He was getting close to Chris Farley parody interview territory.

Remember that time on The Wire when you _____? That was awesome!

This Pick-A-Player bit is brutal.

It's been a rough morning for sports talk on both stations today.

I heard the entire thing. Not great. However, I totally get it. We all have someone we would like to talk to and maybe 3 other people would care about it. Good for Harkins.

I enjoyed Pick-a-Player last week. I would have crushed it on European cities. Would have lost baseball movies, Vegas resorts, and football coaches.

I'm sure Wood Harris loves that too he probably never gets questions about the wire and it's probably refreshing to get questions about a character from the show that ended ten years ago

I wish I thought about turning on the station more often. I'd have liked to have heard this

Parkins blew it. No one cares about stories from The Wire anymore. I was tuning in to hear about Southland Tales.
