Yes, and it is unlikely that the description of the height, weight, gender, and race would lead you to have such a strong suspicion of an NFL player to throw him down on the ground like that. Would you like to make a wager that when the facts come out the description of the suspect, if it even existed, does not match the profile of Bennett?

I do not understand what you are trying to do here. JLN just was making a guess as to why this MIGHT have happened. One possible guess was that cops were radioed large black man possible shooter. Bennett is a large black man running by his own admission from a possible sound of shots. Cops do what they did.

After all that your main point is there are likely no black men in Vegas 6 foot to 6 foot 4 250 pounds roaming about Vegas. If they had clothes on I doubt you could tell the difference between Bennett and quite a few black guys in downtown Chicago.

I think Mitch Rosen is trying to win some Rush Limbaugh hate listeners over since he is losing so many to ESPN 1000. Can be the only explanation

McMahill said the department had 126 pieces of video evidence from the night to pour over, but crucially that the officer who detained Bennett did not activate his personal bodycam.

That story matches what Bennett can be heard saying on the video, about being told to leave and then doing so.

Also, his complaints about a gun being pointed at him are consistent (via third party).

If a cop actually shoots and kills a prominent football player in a case of mistaken identity, it could be a turning point, as a nation gets up and screams "WHAT THE FUCK HE WAS ON MY FANTASY TEAM"

Statement from LVPD on the incident . Interesting . Las Vegas police claimed race had nothing to do with an incident that saw Michael Bennett forced to the ground by a police officer who the Seahawks star says pointed a gun at his head and threatening to shoot him. In a Tuesday press conference, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Undersherriff Kevin McMahill responded to Bennett's accusations of excessive force, which Bennett levied in a statement on Twitter earlier in the day. An internal investigation of the incident is ongoing. At 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 27, police officers responded to a report of a shooter at Drai's nightclub inside The Cromwell casino on The Strip. Officers entered the casino and found no shooter during their first sweep. (The report of an active shooter was later determined to be a false claim from several different people who heard a loud noise inside the casino.) RELATED: Seahawks' Michael Bennett alleges excessive force by Las Vegas police After briefly exiting the building, officers reentered and saw Bennett, 31, crouched behind a gaming machine. According to McMahill, Bennett then ran out of the building and hopped a wall, which caused officers to chase him. "Due to Bennett's actions and the information the officers had at the time, they believed Bennett may have been involved in the shooting, and they gave chase," McMahill said. Bennett said after he complied with the officers' request to get on the ground, one put a gun near his head and threatened to "blow my (expletive) head off" if he moved. Another officer then handcuffed him while jamming a knee into Bennett's back, "making it difficult to breathe." McMahill said Bennett was detained for 10 minutes before being released and that Bennett has only one complaint with the officers' conduct. "Mr. Bennett at the scene had the incident explained to him by a supervisor," McMahill said. "And he said that he understood and that he had no problem with what the officers did -- just the one, that he claimed the officer had pointed a gun at his head." McMahill said the department had 126 pieces of video evidence from the night to pour over, but crucially that the officer who detained Bennett did not activate his personal bodycam. Still, he was confident the investigation would yield a conclusive result. "Many of the folks today have called this an incident of biased-based policing, police officers focused solely on the race of an individual that they are going to spot," he said. "I can tell you as I stand here today I see no evidence of that, that race played any role in this incident." At the end of his prepared remarks, McMahill showed a 5-minute long video from an officer's bodycam that shows the chaotic scene inside the casino. Bennett did not appear until the last few seconds of the video, when he is seen on the ground as another officer makes an arrest with what appears to be a gun drawn. "If the investigation reveals that any policies or training were violated, those officers will be held accountable," McMahill said. "The LVPD prides itself on being transparent and accountable to the public that we serve."
