advertising the Spiegs and Parkins show. That can't be a good sign

Kaplan is killing them since he moved to mornings. He has a true following and while 670 may be the Cubs flagship, Kap has the credibility with Cub fans.

"Credibility" is a bit of a reach for Chicago's favorite Cubs/Lou Malnati's p.r. man, but if you're hungry for straight-up Cubs talk, you're probably going to get more of that from Kaplan than from the "flagship." It's kind of a shame that things shook out the way they did. 670 and the Cubs are still a bad fit to me.

It goes beyond wanting Cubs talk. The day after they clinched the division, Goff stated he didn't watch/care because he's seen celebrations before. He literally said his kid had spit up on him twice and he was focused on that. If I were the Cubs, I'd be pissed that the flagship isn't carrying the flag.

Add to that, it was pretty historic-- 3 straight years of post season baseball hasn't happened in Chicago for either team for 100 years or so.

Jumped over to 1000, and Silvy was talking about how it took him 40 years or so to see the Cubs in 3 playoffs (84, 89, 98), but a 10 year old today only knows the Cubs as a great team. Interesting perspective.

Jason is a Sox fan like many there, so I wouldn't expect him to care. Even as a Cubs fan, I get why the Score was always sort of a safe space for Sox fans, even before they got the rights (back, in a sense) from 1000. They were the little outsider station and the "established" media was in love with (or owned) the Cubs.

I think that stunt happened awhile ago, but you can really see how much weight Spiegel has lost in his face and chest area. Good for him.

Yep... that was when he took the pic in front of ESPN with Kapman. I agree JLN, Spiegel looks terrific. His hard work has paid off.

Cubs season ending is giving them the shakes. The real ratings will be in clear sight now.

My son is 7. His only memories of the Cubs are playoffs and winning a World Series. It's insane to think about. My grandfather was around his age in 1945 and he didn't see them in a playoff game again for nearly 40 years.

That was the day Parkins did the podcast with me. We talked about it.

So, you know it was a long time ago.
