It's crazy to Parkins, journalistically, that we don't know more about why Malcolm Butler was benched. I don't care why he was benched and am not particularly interested in this story.

I hope this topic isn't going to take up the majority of the show.

Both are equally uninteresting.

I'd flip to AM1000 but Kaplan is most likely talking about himself. I guess I'll try Pandora or FM for a while.

I’m not listening but the news is out anyway. Combination of sickness early in the week, coupled with pot and a curfew violation. Perhaps a woman involved. He broke the rules, and paid the price.

Tune back in around 10:55 and they're appreciating LeBron's greatness.

The team paid the price because of Belichick’s arrogance. Do Your Job should also apply to the coaching staff, and part of doing your job is not benching your starting CB in the biggest game of the year.

Rick Ross concert, probably didn't give a fuck because he's a UFA after the game and didn't think BB had the balls to bench him.

Perhaps Belichick is so confident in his team's ability to get back to the Super Bowl next year that is was worth benching Butler and possibly jeopardizing the Pats chance to win this year in order to keep everybody in line and let them know, "it's my way or the highway."

I totally question his coaching abilities. I mean what has he ever accomplished?

I could understand it if he'd had the stones to tell his team of the change at least a day or two earlier. This was pure unrestrained hubris

Hub said he practiced with the first team all week before the game. So Belicheck made the decision on Sunday. Which makes it more strange. The guy that replaced him didn't get the reps in practice. Which you would want.

And the loss was staring him in the face (& the other players) when it was apparent that Butler's backup was a bum

But he denies what was reported. And Belicheck said it wasn't about discipline. That it was complicated.

Maybe he simply said "Fuck You" to Bill in a conversation and Bill benched him.
