Solo Parkins today.

Tuned in around 9:30 or so and Parkins was talking about the NCAA. One of the things he mentioned was how it's unfair that revenue-generating black sports like football and basketball are funding non-revenue generating white sports like swimming and tennis.

Laurence is going to be on with him at 10:30. Don't know if there will be staff standing by to separate them should Laurence decide to "throw hands."

A race war might help ratings.

Yeah, I thought that was an odd and unnecessarily inflammatory take. And you're probably right, billy, JDC is likely kicking herself for not thinking of that first.

Division 1 FBS football teams (excluding HBCU's) were 37% white and 48% black last year. Compare that with the NFL players being 68% black and 27% white in a 2016 census.

It's somehow morally questionable to have a diving team of predominately white kids at Average University because the football team is 48% black?

In something of a coincidence he's now complaining that factually incorrect arguments appear to be in style. He likes facts and would prefer to use them. It sounds like he equates basketball and football with black people. Maybe he should be banned from the United Center.

I don't think Parkins would have said it's unfair that revenue-generating male sports like football and basketball are funding non-revenue generating women's sports.

It doesn't even make sense...it's not as though football and basketball players (just the black ones, I guess?) aren't getting paid because the fencing team needs new gauntlets. Has the NCAA ever said that but-for the non-revenue generating sports with their overhead, football and basketball players would be getting revenue-sharing deals?

On a side note- I have always wondered how Div 2 and lower school fund their athletic department. Is general tuition money subsidizing these unneeded athletic programs?

There are black sports? Maybe that's why hockey fans chant "basketball" at black players.

I guess it's OK when Parkins does it. As he told us on Monday, he has three black friends.

Driving and just listened to a scintillating segment with a women's hockey reporter about, among other things, how surreal it was to be seated ACROSS A STADIUM from Kim Jong Un...'s sister. And how hilarious--but, well not that hilarious because it was a passing moment and she was focused on hockey--to see a Kim Jong Un....impersonator in front of the North Korea cheering section. Also how the credentialing system and security worked for press at the Olympics.

Another segment of this coming up.

Colleges having the ability to STEAL with rising tuition costs and yet the "student" athletes who want (don't deserve) to be paid can't find the value in the GIFT they are given to play a sport the majority WILL NOT play professionally. The lack of value seen in the education that will last the rest of their lives proves they're idiots.
