More interesting story is why Joravsky got fired.

If JORR sees this, you'll change your mind.

Ha. Seriously a progressive radio guy story is less interesting than a sports one we talk about all the time.

Very bizarre. Going to CBS Sunday night radio is Goffesque. Hardy a meteroic move. Minimal exposure, and chump change. Something brewing at the Score? Parkins financial storm?

Contingency planning on his part, I guess. Who knows what happens when Kaplan comes to the Score next fall?

But i would have thought they'd just figure out a way to use Spiegs, since he's done national overnight back with Sporting News Radio.

Young buck. Just keeping his name out there. He’s a go getter. Example is when he came in on day off for Mack trade and got all the full timers on the phone.

Good for him. Nice to see the best host at the station get some more time. I have listened to some of the CBS national stuff, Parkins will do much better than some of the other crap they have put out.

ESPN National radio is the worst. Every discussion is about the Northeast teams. And the hosts are unlistenable.

Good for Parkins. Maybe he can parlay this into a national gig or even something on TV.

He’s got a face for radio.

In a "can't do it" recently didn't Mac slip that Parkins is stressing about his contract being up soon. If he thought he was getting a long extension, with big bucks would he be moonlighting for peanuts?

Could be nothing. Maybe they want him to do a few shows to know him before he starts doing those Feinstein breaks for example.

Doesn't Entercom also own CBS Sports Radio nationally? Seems like he's inserting himself into multiple levels of his employer's business, that can hardly be a bad thing.

CPT's been a shitshow from day one, I'm surprised he didn't quit.

As for Parkins, while CBS Sports Radio's weekend lineup is full of CBS/Entercom sports guys picking up extra shifts, I don't think any of them are as prominent as the afternoon drive guy in the #3 market: it's more like WFAN B-teamers and stuff. John Kincade from Atlanta is in there somewhere, I remember him from when Atlanta had a hockey team. As for his future, I'm not sure that the daily local radio is the best place for a guy who apparently never heard a song, watched a movie, or read a book that wasn't in service of learning how to do sports talk on the radio. He's probably much more suited to filling time on a national level than the aforementioned and agitated WFAN B-teamers. Maybe he'll go down as the Score's version of WGN's Ian Punnett, a guy they tried to shove down everyone's throats before giving up and going back to the people everyone liked.

I don't think Harvey has anything to do with Eychaner anymore. I think he's running that cluster of small-market stations around Wisconsin and Iowa or something.

Admittedly, I'm not the biggest Parkins' fan but I echo the well wishes

Anytime a guy can better himself/family, I say Mazel tov.

He'll do very well, I'm sure.

Radio is classic for taking those that are losing luster and moving them to a national forum.

Educated guess, also guessed by people like Jon Greenberg at The Athletic.

All of his contracts are up around the end of the baseball season, at the same time the Cubs Marquee channel is supposed to get rolling. Aligning himself with the radio flagship makes too much sense.

Plus, supposedly Bernstein's deal is up this summer.

Nothing wrong with having a backup plan. Who knows, he may need to supplement the trust.

He'll soon join the ranks of the guy who goes by DA but at the end of his sports minutes has to state his full name because nobody knows who DA is

If i isn't, it's a good imitation. Turns the hostility down a tad for Feder.

When he leaves the comment "This article fucking blows", we will know for sure.

Did you catch Wayne Besen’s shot at BJ? I’m kind of surprised by that. When he was shown the door he told listeners to give Joravsky a chance because he had interviewed him a number of times and he was a “good guy” (no word on whether he buys drinks though).

Holy crap. Please don’t even joke about that. Having him and Haugh on would be the end of my SCR listening forever.
