I finally got a reply this morning. He said he didn't want to "break up," which pleased me. Had he continued the silence, I would have given much more. They would have lined up to hear it. Laurence and I are fine. It's taken some time and some work and I've done all I can. We text regularly and have been complimentary of each other's stuff from time to time. Our clubhouse is healthier -- in my experiences -- than it's been in this century and beyond, since the breakup in August of '99. Can't speak for the 14 years I wasn't there, but reports from those who were aren't positive. I was busy sticking it up their ass with Jurk, Harry and some great producers for eight of those years.

Interesting if nothing ever came of this, because I haven't listened to the show since 2/13. That afternoon, both Mac and Parkins were going deep on the deal the Cubs made with Sinclair Broadcasting. Eventually they got into how the deal could affect 670AM and specifically their show....IE possibly a TV simulcast. Mac started off into what I thought was dangerous on-air territory, talking openly about how we was not about to sign on to double-duty for TV and Radio for the kind of money (paraphrasing here: "...that I'm currently hearing..."). It was almost as if he was calling out station management on the air.
