Depends on what's being done, pretty tough to do most jobs if you have to wear an abductor sling for any length of time, but radio would be one of the few jobs you could return to work quickly, didn't Uncle Terry work from home for long periods of time?

I think he has been open recently regarding dabbling in pot and alcohol again. Given his history, relapse is a more likely cause of his absence than a shoulder injury.

I wondered about that initially because his absence seemed a bit mysterious. “Mac is out”, no detail and move on. However Mac has always been pretty open so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Besides he’ll likely get some nice meds following the surgery.

It may be that he is having a harder time getting back from surgery because he is refusing to take some of the better meds that would assist him. And lead him to bad places.

Well that is the traditional way for sure. I wondered here last year when the score house stuff showed pot and alcohol consumption. I never got an answer but assumed another method than the AA/NA bible was his philosophy. Example I am addicted to pain pills and not booze and pot so... I just refrain from pills.

It’s not popular but there are schools of thought that are not based on a book from a couple drunk guys in the 1930s. Maybe harm reduction? I have no idea.
