Parkins wants to have the national following that Travis has. So he goes after him to get some attention. Basically he is doing the same thing that article accused Travis of doing. I like Parkins on the radio for the most part, but Parkins is about Parkins. He desperately wants a following.

Well, he's not going to. His ceiling is a CBS Sports Radio guy who tells you the thing you like is bad and the thing you don't like is good. Portnoy and Travis, love 'em or hate 'em, have some sort of dumb-guy charisma that actuates something in people. Parkins doesn't, because he grew up trying to be this perfect lab-created specimen of sports talk radio host without picking up all the idiosyncrasies and je ne sais quoi along the way that you need to really be a capital-P Personality.
