All the radio greats seem of slow down by early to mid 50s. Stern has been living in his "evolved" stage for at least a decade. Dahl has been limping around since his early 50s. I think Brandmeier was out of radio by 50. Matthews was doing hunting shows in Grand Rapids by this age. Even top rated cringe jocks like Eric and Kathy didn't make it past 50.

Maybe he has lost a little. I think he is still good radio and it is pretty remarkable that he is still hosting drive times and getting great ratings as he approaches 60.

Dick Clark is the anomaly.

Stern is God awful now. Pre 2010 he was a must listen.

Favre Fan will bet you $100 that you are Rick Camp. Prove him wrong.

A whole $100 huh? Real high rollers

But if someone would actually like to lose it, I’ll gladly take it.

I’ll bet your entire stimulus check against mine. In fact, I will bet you double my check against yours. Deal? The best part for you, I have a family of four.

He unironically composed and sang a love song to his wife on the air last week. Howard Stern. Did that . That’s not just losing your fastball that’s throwing nothing but eephus pitches .

Anything less than 10:1 odds and deni$ is taking advantage of Rick. Poor boy is unemployed.

Don’t be the guy who thinks he can beat the three card Monty game on the el.

Also, every fastball is continuously slowing.

Crick isn't wrong here.
I'm one of Mac's biggest fans / apologists on the board, but he's definitely lost much of his fastball.

Of all of the sports yakkers to shine at a time when there ISN'T sports...it's Mac. It hasn't been happening. It's been a tough listen even going back to when Parkins was out on Paternity leave.

I hope he can find it.

In all seriousness, I think he’s just largely disinterested. More than usual, and either isn’t hiding it as well or doesn’t care to.

He did, however, sound very engaged and sharp during the Cuban interview. And when he is that he’s still a great listen.

I think the Mac And Spiegel show needs a reboot.

I would vote for that. I was just saying for Mac a reunion with Spiegs would be the best thing for him, since they mesh so much better than adult Danny

What in the sports world is there to be interested in right now? What is going on right now that would generate enough talking points for roughly 20 hours of airtime each week?

Genuine question: do you listen to other sports radio shows or podcasts?

I’ll answer your off topic questions when I’m done rubbing one out. I don’t multi task so well working from home

You started a thread in the Mac section about Mac's show. I've asked you given what is going on in the sports world right now, what Mac's show could and should be programmed with? You have yet to provide anything on that subject.

Have fun rubbing one out. While doing so, please David Carradine yourself.

I would absolutely help you and Crick pull a David Carradine. The world would be a much better place.

Just because Mac has lost his fastball doesn't mean Spiegel has one or ever did. The dude had his shot....he just wasn't that interesting. I don't dislike him. I like him in his role now...I think he's a talented guy, but just like Larry, McDoink, Mully, Haugh, hanley, and the countless others....just not very entertaining.

Mac, Boers, North, Jiggets....for a short time Jurko...and to some extent Parkins....they were entertaining when they'd lighten up, show their true colors, remove their filters and just have fun. Never got any of that from Spiegel. Mac used to have it....no clue where it went.

It’s nice to have a talk radio show with hosts that are within a few years old of each other.

The worst thing that ever happened to Spiegel was that he was paired with Mac. He tended to do better when paired with other partners.

He was the best pure sports guy at the station with Goff a close 2nd. Unfortunately the Score had gotten away from that by the time he came along.

I’m not overly familiar with the numbers associated with those that are married and how much per kid, since based on what I DO understand, I don’t believe I’ll be getting a check so I never dig too deep into it all.

And I certainly won’t be familiarizing myself with all of it on account of you, so just tell me what you’re willing to lose and shut the fuck up
