LOOOOOOOOK AAAATTTTTTTTTT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

No female was ever in a better position to host a real daytime show in the 3rd biggest market in the country and she completely fucked it up because she was absolute dogshit at every aspect of the job.

Really thought provoking and it's clearer than ever that she's dripping with talent. Oh wait, not that. The opposite. She's useless

She was a horrendous talk show host, arguably one of the worst in Chicago sports talk history, and an even worse human being.

You have to be a special type of asshole to refer to yourself as "on-air talent".

this was the most inaccurate sentence of her article :

I worked with McNeil for several years at WSCR in Chicago, one of the leading sports stations in the entire country

If you are working nights at a radio station, then it's just you, or you and your producer.'

So, you wouldn't be seeing any women there then.

Agreed. Her style of writing is also off the charts annoying. Nails on a chalkboard. Even more, what a B to think McKnight deserves to have his firing discussed in a national setting.

she might be too dumb to know she didn't get laid off from WSCR, but Entercom...as did like 10 other people in that round of hiring alone (not to mention white man Conor Mcknight).
https://www.robertfeder.com/2020/04/03/ ... -stations/

Most of the others laid off were actual on-air talent during the daytime and not 10-midnight but only when the Cubs don't play. ON-air talent got fired from music and talk radio stations, why would somebody working 10-midnight when there are no sports get a pass?

Sure reads like she protected Bernstein for some reason. Why in the world would she omit his name and gloss right over his repeated public missteps?

Looks like she's still calling it "her" station in some recent tweets, knowing the big dog could still get her in. Leila just got picked up for a Wednesday shift per Deep Throat Zawaski and Julie tweeted her obligatory "she'll kill it." Had to kill her to write that.

Fuck Bernstein. If Mac got the axe, and people are getting rung-up left and right for social media faux pas' from years and years gone by, he's gotta go, too.

I hope the hounds paste up his exploits in the comments sections of all the national websites, with links to his missteps.

God, fuck July. I don't think Mac's heart was ever truly in this stint and he might not have been long for the Score anyway given the continued mediocrity of the Bears and Hawks, but he deserves better than people like her and Fels pissing on his grave.

As for Bernstein, boy, how hard must he be praying nobody sends Vichy Deadspin, or even Fourth Republic Deadspin, audio of him calling Brittney Griner a "wildebeest".

Last night, a bunch of guys from my old station texted me, expressing chagrin that the station was, once again, being embarrassed by a sexist comment from a host.

No, no they didn’t . I do know however , of at least 2 Score employees dm’img someone on Twitter saying how universally disliked you were at the station Julie .

Before he "evolved", Goff used to refer to homeless people as "lazy bums". That's the kind of diverse perspective we need on the Chicago airwaves!

I'm not commenting on what's right or wrong, what's moral or immoral, but one thing for certain, the vast majority of Score listeners find Jay Zawaski more embarrassing than Dan McNeil. But that's the whole cultural battle in a nutshell. The idea that certain thoughts aren't fit to be heard and that people that like Mac are deplorable and if the listeners were good people they'd like Julie and Maggie instead. We don't. And I'm not sorry about that at all.

Why is everything always a zero sum game around here? Its not if you "like Dan McNeil you're deplorable" its if you defend him for saying bullshit like this then you are likely deplorable.

Should he have been canned over this? I don't know but if it wasn't a fucked up thing to say then why did he rush to take the tweet down in the first place? Trying to cover his own ass that's why.

This isn't McNeill's first rodeo with this sort of bullshit either. He has always fashioned himself as sort of Mike North lite when it comes to this sort of thing and when he had the wind at his back he could pull this and get away with it. In today's times he cannot and thus he should have made the adjustment.

I will never understand the movement that says we need more black voices, or female voices, etc. in sports talk radio. I can't think of a place where diversity of opinion matters less for one, or why your racial background or gender would give you a leg up in making comments about last night's game. Furthermore it's like saying we need more male voices in the Vagina Monologues or on the Real Housewives. Or the Breakfast Club needs to have a white guy to balance out the opinions.

Yeah, a radio guy who gets paid in part to do a little comedy/entertain people along with talking about sports should get fired for making a dumb joke about a stupid leather outfit worn by a sideline reporter. If you believe that you are definitely deplorable.

And for the record, I've never really been a fan of Mac or listened to his shows very often.

Nice euphemism there aye? He called her a porn star in essence. Thats what he did which was in fact deplorable. First of all the outfit wasn't even raunchy. She showed her shoulders. It was stupid to relate it to porn.
Other people lose their jobs over saying similarly stupid shit. He gets paid to communicate. If he believes that it is ok to communicate in that way then he is an idiot.

That's your take. He made a joke about her attire on the sidelines at a sporting event. I don't think it had anything to do with her shoulders. But whatever. You say more offensive stuff on this board everyday. I hope no one who has the power to fire you ever reads it. And I mean that sincerely.

Its "offensive" to call bigots out for being bigots on here? Interesting though not at all surprising which is sort of Julie Dicaro has referenced all along.
I work in a field where I have to watch what I say in case you didn't notice.
