So you provide answers to someone you say is a fool, all the while expecting him to one day understand?

And btw, it's a long walk to the Walmart Supercenter from South Austin.

Can’t people just have their drivers take them?

Not everyone in Austin can afford a car.

Pretty hard to bring all the groceries home on the CTA.

Why don’t they use one of their housekeepers’ cars?

Me personally. I'd gladly donate to an inner city charity that's financially accountable that helps disabled, shut-ins, seniors, children, temporarily unemployed. But not rioters, looters, or anyone that condones "justice" violence of any kind. Parkins is one of the worst choices imaginable to unite people on a worthy cause.

Here you go vito. Better yet, get your ass in your car and go volunteer.

https://www.missionola.com/

Or 115 N Oakley. Every day between 9-12 except Thursday.

In that case it was a TERRIBLE idea for them to open up this charity grocery store to specifically cater to the looters. They won't let you into the store unless you bring a CCTV printout of yourself breaking into Niketown.

Can we call this what it is....Parkins is the young and only talent at the radio station.

There will be local articles gushing about Parkins pulling a 24 hour all nighter for a great cause.

Parkins wins and good for him for taking advantage of an opportunity to further his career.

I am all for charity, this will make no difference at all. I wish it would, it won't.

OLOTA is a great mission. I was involved in some fundraisers they held back in 2012 and 2013 for renovating the church. Bob was a great guy as well as the nuns.

They do absolutely amazing things there.

The Missionaries of Charity on Oakley is our families go to place though. My family was involved from the beginning in the mid 80's.

I regret not taking the time to meet Mother Theresa when I had the opportunity.

24 hours of Danny Parkins is far more upsetting than raising money to make sure Austin has a grocery store.

Board really does itself proud by bagging on radio hosts for raising money for charity.

Bernstein was the original at getting berated for raising money for camps serving children with cancer.

Now it's time to punch down on Parkins for raising money for a grocery store that is to employ neighborhood teenagers.

Real good look for CFMB

Try the greater Chicago food depository. That's who gets my donation dollars, nearly exclusively.

Don't try the Greater Chicago Food Suppository, though. It took me days to recover from that one.

All this talk about charity and not one mention of the Rittenhouse defense fund.

I don't know Kirkwood and rarely comment on the post of another but he put it very well and he's absolutely correct, imo.

1,550+ pages making fun of a failed update anchor and a thread critical of Danny Parkins is going to make this message board look bad? Yikes...

That's probably as good as any charity I've seen.

What website you use for that vito? I remember looking up Rizzo charity and it had a failing grade.

In an attempt, probably in vain, to nudge this thread in a different direction, I have never come anywhere close to staying up for 24 hours straight, somewhere around 18 hours is probably my personal best. Who here has stayed awake for 24 hours or more? How long did it take you to get back to a normal schedule?

It can happen in the oilfield.

I think I stayed up for over 30 hours before.

Longest shift was over 40 hours with a nap or two.

It can take a couple days for your biorhythms to get back to normal.

Def not good for your health.

Yeah that does seem good. We worked with Habitat for Humanity for about 15 years and had a great relationship with them. When we sold a few years ago the company that bought us had a relationship with United Way so they dropped Habitat which was unfortunate I thought.
