Today this dope said that Theo left the cubs in a demonstrably better place than he found it. Now if you mean the WS ok fine he did win one. But that's not when he left He left that team in a really shitty place with terrible contracts and a depleted farm system that will take years to fix. |

I'm not a Cubs fan, but I don't remember things being that great in 2011. Were they really that much worse in 2020 than they were in 2011? |

I think he's saying he made the organization get 15 scouts instead of 4. He improved the spring training facility in Arizona. I think they made some facility in some Latin American country as well. He made Ricketts imporve Wrigley as well. Where the players had a club house that wasn't the size of a high school locker room and they didn't have to step over bags of dry dust and rakes to get to the shower. That sort of thing. That's what he meant. So I'll defend Spiegel on this one. What I do hate about everybody at the SCORE is their belief that Theo could do anything. Including be the President of the United States or run a fortune 500 company. |
