Enough votes are in to say "enough is enough"... this past Monday, we had a fantasy football draft at my best friend Rich's home. At the draft we were waiting for a couple guys who were running late to start the draft. I happened to bring up this site in conversation and I logged onto it. He was particularly amused by the DB section and bet me dinner at Gibsons for ourselves and our spouses that I couldn't get named DB of the week. I wasn't sure how to approach it...start a feud with someone that was ridiculous, what. Then there was this thread...perfect. I started out with the self-love stuff, but wasn't at all sure that was going to win the bet, so I pulled the racist crap out of thin air and presto!!! Worked very well. I was counting on more vitriol from NAS and instead got respect for the honesty he perceived in the posts. I didn't expect the support I got from some early, as I thought the posts were hard to defend. So I had to work a bit harder. But I'll be dining on bone-in Ribeye tomorrow night, thanks to the board. I am sorry if there were people who were genuinely offended, but I got a bit caught up in the whole thing. It wasn't so much about getting the free dinner, as about taking the challenge and winning the bet. I hope there are not too many hard feelings.

On the bright side, this whole thing inspired a great deal of inspired conversation and got things hopping around here. By the way...my ex wife's sister is married to a black guy (His name is Tony and we are still friends) I stood up for their wedding and am Godfather to their Son Nick, who I still see at least once a month. Thanks for the dinner guys

What?!? Hahahaha. So why did the racism continue for years after the bet was over?

Double or nothing?

Steak dinner boom.

It's like the Twilight Zone episode where the guy bets he can't talk for a year, so he removes his vocal cords and the other guy ends up not even having the money to begin with. Steve is playing the super long con but without any payout.

Overrated thread.

Steve gave everyone a ton of material for great laughs and no one did anything with it.

You had to be here a the time. It really was amazing.

Like if The Beatles released Hold your Hand now, it would be a joke. But back then....

Bing. Bong. Boom.

I know it's probably somewhat obvious, but it's not that I am 'right.' I have just found it's better to wait when deciding on things like this because they aren't always what they seem. Rick chooses the opposite. In this case, my point of view would have been the better one to take. Coincidently, either choice allows one to come to the same conclusion: Steve in Elmhurst is a douchebag.

I did ask the question if it was possible that someone hacked his account, but was quickly told to shut it from you (Rick) and Don Tiny. It just seemed so out of character and quite outlandish, so that's why I asked. In full disclosure, while I was never 100% certain Steve in Elmhurst was for real, I was definitely leaning that way.

I forgot Bucky Chris actually bought the Steak story

Gibson's would be pretty far down on the list if someone else was buying.

If I'm going full racist, I'm going to a better place.

What's his full story? Isn't he a "painter"? and did some work for McNeil?

He is also in the 16" softball hall of fame, if I remember correctly

Make sure when you ask for his autograph that he includes HOF for authenticity.
