But he's still annoyingly non-entertaining in this role. Has anyone honestly listened to Holmes after a fill-in shift and said "I can't wait till he's back on again"?

Also liked how he continued his tradition of plugging his blog and nighttime shift, along with informing Mike DeCourcy, before asking him a question, that he was on the Depaul broadcast crew. Like somehow that gives him greater insight.

Yes, he really really doesn't speak bad. Which is really good for a talk host, the not speaking bad.

He's also run a thought or two past Dan & Terry, which means its validated regardless of the amount of research or investigation he's performed. Dig beneath the surface and you'll get Larry repeating whatever you're saying with a curious mix of ignorance and disbelief because Larry only stays at the surface.

But if you want someone who'll parrot a Bernstein stance really, really good. And run with it really, really far, and hang up on a caller that offers a counterpoint that Dan hasn't previously addressed, then Larry is perfect.

Vintage Larry: a segment involving callers calling in to the show to tell Larry which calls by Rex Ryan in the Colts v. Jets game were like something Lovie would do. There was a prize involved. 10 or more callers called in with valid similarities that Holmes agreed with, but they were not the one he was thinking of. He might as well have had people calling to guess a number between 1-100.

The negative reaction to Holmes has nothing to do with his race, IMO.

He's really bad.

Hoodie is only good when he is actually talking sports. When he is doing his impressions and trying to be a comedian, I can't PTFB quick enough.
