Maybe someone could point out to Mac that the winner of the Daytona 500, Jamie McMurray, has the Jamie McMurray Foundation that is designed to raise funds for autism research and support families and individuals impacted by autism. That might peak his interest a little.

Maybe I just did.

That would be good too. I'm sure there have been some excellent guards thrown worthy of discussion or the occasional hammer.

Right, any sport where you can put your beer down and have it stay cold is clearly awesome.

Actually, US 99.5 has EVERY NASCAR Sprint Cup race, regardless if the calls come by way of MRN or PRN Radio Network. Unfortunately, because of the length of yesterday's race, the CBS Radio-owned country music station played a lot more commercials after 4p or so. It's something you'll definitely notice when the race coverage goes beyond its alloted time or if rain pushes back a race until a Monday afternoon as the season progresses.

Yeah thats the thing about this show and most shows on the Radio. They have their own ideas of what draws people in and what people want to hear. I often PTFB if I dont want to listen to something, and than I usually come back. 10 mins on Nascar after their "Superbowl" wouldnt be that bad. Just like 10 mins after a huge MMA event wouldnt be that bad. What the fuck do I know, Im just the listener though.

Oh and I cant stand Nascar either. Give the people what they want sometimes and they will be even more loyal than you think.

Ten minutes of Arena 1 maybe? Some Rush updates from Mike Hohensee? (is he still the coach?)

I try to keep an open mind and watch a little of everything from NASCAR to soccer to Winter Olympic sports, but I'm sorry, NASCAR is a total bore and a total joke. Red flags, yellow flags, potholes on the track in your biggest event of the year . . . ZZZZZZ.

Running a race under a yellow flag is like delaying a baseball game due to rain, but letting the innings continue to tick off during the delay AND letting the team trailing catch up, but not getting the lead, during the delay. Oh, the game was delayed with the Cubs leading 5-1 in the 6th. Now, we're going to resume the game, an hour later, with the Cubs leading 5-4 in the 8th. Keep it.

nascar discussion could be interesting if you had a good analyst. lot of drama and petty nastiness. like i said before, sports is soap opera for men. i think 1.25% of the time Mac has on the air would hardly be onerous.

Yellow flag laps count because they significantly impact the race - tire wear, mileage, track position, etc. The timing of the cautions have impact on pit strategy and mileage calculations and managing the cautions correctly is typically the difference between winning and losing.

Is it boring to see them driving slowly? Probably so. But taking a knee in football is boring. Intentional walks and relief pitchers warming up are boring. Foul shots are boring. They are all still important parts of the sport.

WORD. nascar's biggest problem. well, their biggest problem is they only acquire drivers that have an american sounding last name (im not kidding, your last name must be easy to spell and say or you WONT be a nascar pro) and they also like the young cute guys- the ones that make housewives wet (like kasey kane). it really isnt about being the BEST driver, however at least they made some of the biggest changes in 20 years to at least weed out the really weak drivers.

I guess Kasey Kahne's last name is too hard to spell, then, because you misspelled it.

I was hoping to get the rest of Ike's list of young, cute guys in NASCAR.
