Travers Day at Saratoga

Good card today, albeit likely full of chalky winners. Gamine was too strong in the 7th and paid only $2.70, so probably more of the same. But there’s always ways to find value…

Race 9 the Jerkins…small field with loads of talent I like the prices currently on the 1-Drain the Clock and the 4-Following Sea…both have been working out in the am with some pretty tough customers…

Race 10 Personal Ensign…tons of speed signed on and there is a good chance that 6-Letruska will go wire to wire…but if she falters look for the 3-Bonnie South (10/1) coming on strong late

Rube, Walt, JORR, Hawg...anyone playing

I took my crack against Gamine and thought I had her.

I like Royal Flag here after they throw down up front.

Yep, been playing today, but I've been away for most of the day at a memorial service for my Aunt, who passed away at the end of July. Sad day, because she was my mom's twin.

I've am even through the 11th, playing all SAR races today. Missed with the #1 in the SwordDancer. Essential Quality looks tough to beat in the Travers, but does not project a lot of late speed. He could be vulnerable to #3 Keepmeinmind or #4 Dynamic One at the buck and a quarter. Prolly go 2,3 and 2,4 exa. boxes.

Sorry for you family's loss Rube.

I also agree that the 3-Keepmeinmind paying 3/1 to come in second..could take it all

Not a bad name for your day, too.

So Santana should have enough horse under him to scoot out to the lead....the 6-Masqueparade will go with him...if they burn each other out it will set up too nicely for the 1/2 fav Essential Quality...and that 3 is still a wild card..still expecting a terrific finish...

3-1-2-7

Essential Quality is one of the best grays that's we've seen in a long time. The last good one I can remember was Creator.

Trivia question: What type of horse did Robert E. Lee ride?

Tougher trivia question: What was its name?
