Which one do you like best, Walt? I'm pretty sure that lightly raced thing that Castellano is riding is gonna have the hammer down in the stretch. I hope he can get there.

He might be able to wire that field if he gets the first quarter without too much pressure. I have to think Beach Patrol is going to be banging on him though.

I'd lean toward Beach Patrol...like that old Hogan Wrestlin Boot Travelin Band.

Bayakoa was a great horse. Ron McAnally had a lot of success with South American horses and she was one of his first. I'll never forget this race. I had a big bet on Go For Wand. I thought she was cooked after the six panels in 1:10 and change but she was hanging tough at the eighth pole. We'll never know if she would have gotten there:

glad i didn't put any money down on this one. this horse is maddening. i've seen it win at 12-1 and 9-1 odds; the last two races i've watched, i think it finished 7th or 8th, way out of the money. then today it finished 3rd after being in the lead before the final turn.

crazy trifecta at 1-3-6. big money though if anyone caught it.

that's really tragic to see.

i've seen a few races where the horse bucks the jockey off but i don't think i've seen a straight up crash on the track.

I don't remember who won the Eight Belles race. Did she win and then break down? Anyway, that might be Bayakoa's greatest race. It's sad Go For Wand broke down in it.

Several years ago a horse literally gruesomely broke down literally in front of me at Arlington. That kept me away for a few years.

I will be reinvesting some on Roca Rojo tomorrow if the price is right. I think Miss Temple City should be the favorite.
