This race is up for grabs. I know that Multiplier has to made a huge step forward, but he's got the blinkers on and the price is fair at 15-1.

The more I think about Looking at Lee's consistency, the more I want to have him. And I like Senior Investment's progression. Tapwrit's had a slight rebound, but J. Boys Echo has been going in the wrong direction.

My four are Looking at Lee, Multiplier, Gormely and Senior Investment in no particular order. Most my confidence is in Looking at Lee.

The Baffert Criminal Enterprise strikes again. To put this in perspective you'd have to add 100 points to Barry Bonds batting average and 10-15 homers to his annual total. This is embarrassing.

Smart money is flowing to Twisted Tom, now down to 9-1 from 20-1 M/L.

Back to back Chad Brown upsets?

Feel like betting him defensively with Tapwrit.

Bet a few. If J Boys Echo or Hollywood Handsome place or win, I'll do okay.

Horrible. Mike Smith and that uncontrollable broken equipment rat wreck Irish War Cry and he still almost won.

I do believe I told Walt that Tapwrit was better than McCraken earlier this Spring.

I want to see a jockey come out and say "FUCK THE OWNERS! I DID EVERYTHING! THIS SHIT DOESN'T HAPPEN WITHOUT ME AND THE HORSE!" and then knock the mic out of the reporter's hand after he wins.

Tons the best doesn't always get it done. That's what's great about racing.

I had Tapwrit in a $5 exacta box with Twisted Tom. Thought pedigree would carry T.T and the Chad Brown magic. Just needed a place there. :(

I'm not surprised Tapwrit won. I think $12.60 was a fair price on him too.

I bet in the morning which is really a big no-no, but I figured in a race like this where the pools had been open all day Friday and the handle was huge that Irish War Cry was going to be stuck right around 7/2 and hopefully would go up a little. The scratch of the Japanese horse didn't help. If they were running the race again I'd bet IWC all day at 7/2. But when he got hammered at the end there and was only offering 5/2, that was just too short. Still, he was way the best horse. He had that rat Meantime hanging all over him for the first mile and for a little while that other horse that came unchecked and was running wild added even more pressure. Tapwrit got the world's perfect trip. Kudos to Ortiz though. That's why they race 'em.

This was a difficult race to handicap. Most of the horses were unproven, with a couple having flashes of brilliance. It was about time Tapwrit got a return on his investment. He was the million dollar horse in the field.

But none of the pros took Tapwrit. They poo-pooed him for his lack of consistency and didn't like the short price. Irish War Cry was the favorite. It wasn't surprising he came in second, but he had similar issues to Tapwrit about consistency coming in.
