I haven't looked at it really close, but I'm leaning toward Always Dreaming. He's the only real speed in there and the rail was a quagmire in the Dandy and he still hung on okay. Cloud Computing couldn't get past him.

Is the Navarro horse going in the King's Bishop?

Yeah, I know it has a new name this year.

He's going to run off in the PA Derby then, I guess.

Okay, the first race I attacked on Saturday's card is the Forego. Drefong is truly lone speed in there. He may grab the top and just run away from these. I'm not sure he'll even be the favorite, that honor may go to Mind Your Biscuits. I won't be happy if Drefong wins and pays $5.60 or something, but I'm going for the downs in here. Divining Rod has a chance if Drefong falters and at a HUGE mutuel. I think Castellano can keep him close enough without wearing him down chasing the front and he will be closing faster than anyone. I hope he can get there.

The Personal Ensign: I think Forever Unbridled chops Songbird up in here. In any case, Songbird figures to be a huge underlay. I'll be firing on Forever Unbridled. If somehow Songbird can run out of the top two (I doubt it) I will get really fat.

Until someone beats Irap, I'm sticking with him as the best 3 year old.

If I get a good price on Girvin, I'll bet him too.

Del Mar tonight.

Always Dreaming gate to wire.

I like Anita G at Del Mar tomorrow too. Sometimes I bet cheap horses too.

JORR, your betting strategy has worked well for me. Last week Sat. I hit a 34-1 with it in the last race at Arlington.

So thank you.

In the 5th at Del Mar, I had a $2 win on Ferguson at 30-1, because he came up at a discount in my screener.

1 minute before the post, I said, WTF am I betting a 30-1 horse here? I'm just throwing away 2 bucks! So I cancelled it.

What do you think happened? The horse romps in a 7 length victory in a huge upset.

If I only had a takeback.

If you dismiss West Coast in this race, you are making error. Same with Gunnevera. Ran a nice race last time out on August 6 at GP. Looks to be in very good form (and shape). If he stays at 20-1, I'm all over that.

Maybe I'm wrong, but you're not going to see any Chad Brown horse in the victory circle today.

Who you like Walt?

:D Walt, you have to start somewhere before whittling it down. These are on my radar before the odds go live. Then I'll decide.

Plus, I'll probably play the tri-fecta and pick four.

i get like that too and i don't know why. what's $2? i did that on thursday with a horse named Dot Matrix. i can't believe i let that one go. 27-1 winner. and a great name.

however, i don't feel bad for you, Mr. 34-1.

That's got to be the morning line, no? I would think that 8/5 would be very generous on him and if he wins the race and pays that I'll be kicking myself for betting against him at what I'd say is an overlay price. Drefong is absolutely lone speed in here. But lone speed doesn't always win and I think Divining Rod is gonna get a good set up here and he has a chance that will be a whole lot better than his odds.

yeah looks that way. my guess is that it goes to 7-5 or 8-5, and mind your biscuits goes to 2-1 or something. divining rod will probably stay around 5-1, maybe 9-2 but i can't see it going further than 7-1.

I'd be happy with 5/1 on Divining Rod. If he's 7/1 I'm gonna bet until I get tired.

No one playing the Arlington races today? I am.

It's with these cheap horses that no one is paying attention to where you find the most value and the 34-1 gems.

If I see anything really good, I'll post. Starting to go through all the sheets now.

This will be an awesome day. Great betting race in the Traverse and Mayweather-Macgregor later to get drunk to.

Post subject:  Re: The Travers

My complaint about Arlington is that too many horses are scratched for their races. It's like all the time. I'm not interested in betting a five or six horse race, because the odds are not there.

However, in the 8th today, there is some value in either Go Bonnie Go at 10-1 and Kara's Angel at 15-1. #9 Refashion is the one to beat, but getting more than fair odds at 5-1 on the M/L.

GL all today.
