I think it was like 8-6 and on a live bet I bet $5 on the Cubs moneyline and sure enough I won

Speaking of "live betting" (where you can place bets during the game and the odds are constantly fluctuating), are those odds being changed by an actual person or have these sportsbooks written algorithms to do it? Seems like it would take a lot of personnel to follow all the games and determine fair odds based on the game's situation. Even if they build in a good spread for the house, there could be an opportunity to find value.

Algorithms with typically a larger house edge than a regular bet. Maybe some live guidance is done during the NFL games.

in basketball the odds change with every basket, or even every missed basket.

i picked up a few bucks yesterday.

I live-betted moneyline that the Cubs would win both times they were down by 3 runs.

I lost $ about 5 games last week as the Cubs were losing so this made up for some of that.
